Guest guest
Hi All I've just been diagnosed with this thing although I don't seem to have any of the classic symptoms. I've had an MRI and am having a CT tomorrow to confirm, so I hope it's C-toma and not something more sinister. Anyway, have had YEARS of ear problems (since I was little and am now 60) but the last time I had anything like a discharge or earache would be a couple of years ago. I have been getting more and more deaf but I thought that was just deterioration as I get older. My MAIN symptom thought - the one that sent me running to the doctor - is facial paralysis on the right side. It started off with about 3 weeks of severe spasms and has now settled into this lopsided facial thing - it's not numb, I still have feeling there, it's just that the muscles won't work on that side of my face. I haven't read of anyone else who has had this symptom although apparently it is a recognised one. If you have had this before your op, how did it go afterwards? Did your face work properly again or am I stuck with this forever? Thanks Sharyn
