Guest guest
that is the worst part of the surgery is the vertigo....but it will go away. just takes time...I didnt have that much on my first surgery but my second one I did.. > > Greetings to all, > > I am a 49 year old male who was diagnosed with a cholesteatoma this year. My symptoms started in March as coomon cold symptoms. I treated it > as such but my symptoms continued to get worse. I finally broke down and went to Care-Now clinic for anti-biotics. The doctor mis-diagnosed it as sinusitis and prescribed anti-biotics. Surprisingly my symptoms got much better and I thought I was cured. Two weeks after I stopped taking the anti-biotics my symptoms returned. I obtained additional anti-biotics and once again my condition improved. Two weeks later they returned. > Went to my family doctor and he mis-diagnosed again. Prescribed a nasal spray and oral anti-biotics with the same results. > That is when I had enough and found a ENT specialist with many years experience. He knew what it was on the first visit and scheduled surgery on the next visit. He said it was the worst case he had ever seen in 25 years. > I am now 4 days post-op and having a lot of problems. The worst complication I have is massive vertigo. I can barely walk and to step outside is like stepping off a merry-go-round. The whole world is spinning and I end up vomiting. > My doctor said this should rapidly improve in the next couple of days but so far appears to be getting worse. > I guess my question is when will the vertigo get better? > Any advice or resources/links about vertigo would be really helpful to me. >
