Hello Sara Joy. Many years ago I used some horse linament on a sore knee. I

could taste it through my entire body for days. YUCK!!!! Your skin will

absorb what you put on it.

What formula are you using? Some recipes don't ask for glycerin and I've forgotten to put it in some of my lotions and never noticed. I also use the coconut oil from Walmart that's pretty cheap when I need some for lotions or soaps.

I've been making an msm cream using a coconut oil base, but its fairly expensive to make that way.

Hey Sara! HOpe all is well. It would depend on the type of glycerine you are using for beginners I would stay with the coconut oil if it were me unless you go to a superb olive oil..
