Hi All, i hope you don't mind me asking a question or 2 about cholesteatoma,

but, i was diagnosed back in july that i have C-toma and at first i tought

nothing of it until i started reading up on it, now i'm worried, the thing is, i

have been having constant ear infections, pain and hearing loss for nearly 20

years, i have even been told " it's just normal ear wax " , the thing is, for the

last year i have been having bouts of flu like syptoms " hot and cold, painfull

joints etc " but it only lasts a day but recently i have been getting them every

other day. my question is " has anyone else had the same problem " .

When my cholesteatoma blew up back in March I thought it was a common cold.

Problem was it never got better. Congestion, low grade fever and breathing

problems. Was slowly going downhill until I went to an urgent care center and

was diagnosed with sinusitis. A steroid shot and antibiotics knocked it out but

two weeks after I stopped treatment the symptoms came back. My ENT did not seem

to think these things were related but I know they are. The day after surgery my

congestion and breathing problems went away and have not returned.

I guess the only advice I can give is get on antibiotics as they will provide

some relief but you must have the surgery.
