Guest guest
Dawnita, Thankss for your advice. I had been up since 5am the day I ate at 9 am. Thats not the norm for me. It went down fine, but 4 hrs later lunch was a no go. What I was trying to get across to everyone is that sometimes no mater how late I eat it doesn't work, other times it does. I think, for me anyway, the hormonal and water changes affect how tight my band is on a day to day basis. I can't remember one day since my fills that I actually had "3 meals a day" and almost never have"protien" in the non-liquid form at meals. The only negative thing I have realized is that "eating right" is not on my menu as far as salad, fruit, ,green beans (and lots of other veggies), chicken, and fish go... I just can't eat them, so I just have to be creative in how I get calories and nutrition in. I'm sure many of you will have plenty to say on this so please, let me know how you manage salad and the such after multiple fills. Dana -------------- Original message -------------- From: "dawnita3@..." <dawnita3@...> Oh yeah...someone was talking about eating breakfast at 9 am...I haven't been able to eat anything prior to noon for the entire time I have had my band...JUST LIQUIDS...and I would suggest you try that rather than getting your stoma all irritated. Try not eating til later in the day and you might find yourself more comfortable. You can still eat several times...in small amounts...but LOTS of us don't do food until later in the day...because the band is just plain tighter in the mornings. When my last fill was too tight...I couldn't drink ANYTHING until 8 pm...so I loaded up to keep from getting dehydrated...because it took several days to get back in for readjustment...and I did get a little dehydrated...but not dangerously so, because I knew to keep trying later in the da y...cuz my band has always been looser the later it gets. I think it has to do with lying down...then being up...cuz I also found if I take a long nap during the day...it is real tight again when I get up.BIG HUGS, AND GOD'S BLESSINGSDawnita MayLowpass, Oregon10/05/05 dob "Iraida" 209/155/135 5ft 3inches See Mylatest photos at: http://dawnita1961.myphotoalbum.com/
Guest guest
Dana: I have spent the last couple of months feeling the way you describe... just too tight to eat right, the band tightness flucuating, etc. I had a very slight unfill last Monday... just had .3cc taken out and I feel so much better. I can eat healthier foods too AND I am losing weight again! Maybe you ought to consider a slight unfill and see how that goes. Guest guest
Thanks for the reply Sharon. My next appt is June 28 (for a fill) I probably won't need it tho..who knows. I am a littler looser, able to eat a fewbites of pork chop and a spoonful of pasta salad last night around 9pm. I just got over my pd a few days ago and seem to be a less tight. Also, I can't recall who suggested to not eat until later in the day, but thats what I'm doing again. Just having coffee and tea for the morning and maybe some broth or milk if I'm hungry around 1or 2 then try to eat something substantial in the evening. Trying not to eat something just because I can. Trying to choose light foods if needed in the afternoon like soup, pudding, yogurt or some times a cracker will do. I also bought more slimfast, I use 1/2 can with 4oz skim milk and drink that in the early afternoon sometimes too. It satisfies me and doesn't irritate the band if I'm tight. So I'll see how it goes.. thanks again..Dana -------------- Original message -------------- From: "shaymilr" <sharonpanglemiller@...> Dana:I have spent the last couple of months feeling the way you describe... just too tight to eat right, the band tightness flucuating, etc. I had a very slight unfill last Monday... just had .3cc taken out and I feel so much better.
