Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have been a member and supporter of this group for a while now. My husband was diagnosed with cholesteatoma years ago and has had several surgeries and complications as well. Recently however, I myself was also diagnosed with it and will have to undergo a procedure. It has already taken the bone in my left ear canal. Unfortunately, I was informed that this is indeed a somewhat hereditary condition and that 2 of my children may also be suffering from it. I am devastated by this news as is my husband. The 1st surgery he had was done by a doctor who was not thorough and who did not follow proper procedure which resulted in permanent damage to him that could have been avoided. The 2nd and 3rd operations were done by a very gifted individual who not only successfully removed it but went over the previous surgery and successfully removed and cleaned up what the other doctor didn't with no complications. He is the specialist I will be entrusting myself and my children to as well. I am grateful for this group and I thank you all for the input and insight you have given to myself and my husband over the years.
