Gladys Gladys, contrary to the advice you were given awhile ago, the EO will NOT dissolve in water... you have to use either a solublizer, like sorbitol, or alcohol. first dissolve the eo in the alcohol, then add distilled water. for a room spray, to avoid any risk of the water becoming contaminated, I would use 80% alcohol... at least 50%... Guest guest
Thanks so much. This is one of the first items I want to make. I'm not feeling so secure about soap. Maybe I'll do liquid soaps. lol Pamela Mom of four wonderful boys Spenser 13, Preston 10.5, Bryce 6 and Paxton 2 Wife of my soulmate Dwight

Guest guest
Here is what I use. I take a spray bottle of some sorts. fill it most the way with distilled water. add a little everclear ( or vodka that is the has the highest alcohol %) this would be a very small amount if the bottle was an 8 oz spray bottle put no more that 1/2 oz. take a dropper and put about 100 drops of an fo or an eo. seems like a lot of drops but not really! you can use less drops depending on how powerful you want your scent to be. if you want to make a body fragrance use jojoba and an eo or fo. Guest guest
the recipe that I gave for room spray can be used for linen spray . If you don't want to use that alcohol don't just make sure that you shake the bottle before each use. I use one with out alcohol. I use it also on my clothes when I iron them. Make sure that you do a test to make sure that the oils will not stain the material. You can also go in to the library and find more recipes. There are lot's of ideas. Guest guest
, I my room sprays I use alcohol, in my body sprays I do not. I think alcohol is drying so why use it on the body. I do use a preservative in my sprays. Room spray 1 quart distilled water 1 cup everclear or vodka 1 oz polysorbate 20 mixed with 1 oz of fragrance 20 drops of Germaben II Heat the water to warm NOT HOT, polysorbate/fragrance mix then add the vodka and incorporate well, add germaben and let sit for 24 hours before bottling. I don't color my sprays as I use aluminium bottles, you can though if you like by adding color (water soluable) a drop at a time until you reach the desired color. Be sure to add " Shake before each use " to your label.
