Guest guest
Trisha, I can tell you I was also an emotional wreck after surgery. Some say it is the anesthesia. I don't know. But I cried over everything. I cried because I was happy to be alive and banded, I cried because I missed my kids, I cried and told Curtis "I love you" so much that he asked me not to say it for a while LOL (in a joking way of course). It lasted about 10 days or so and I think it was when I started getting better protein in, or it could have been a coincidence, I started feeling better. Face it, you just went through a life changing experience, the hormones are all over the place. Hope you feel better soon. M 280/178/155 -102lbs gone for good! I had the band done on the 10th. It is now 8 days later and I am the most emotional irritable thing that you could imagine. I have cried over little stuff and big stuff. I miss food, but I can deal with that. I am hungry and drink drink drink. (Isopure mango/peach tastes like bad breath) I have to put my scale away because every time it went up or down my mood would follow.Did anyone experience the blues after being banded? I am so excited about the new me and the idea of being banded, but the emotions are playing tricks on me. I have also dreamed I ate french fries, isn't that weird? My 33rd birthday is on the 25th and I get to celebrate by drinking my 1st protein drink and I will be off of the clear liquids. This is truely something to look forward to., please expect a phone call from me because I want more info on your fill Dr. It would be nice talk to you also. Ron says that you were wonderful to talk to and were a great support. So I told him he needed to share. Thanks for everythingTrish

Guest guest
I hear ya! I've had the blues BIG TIME. Part out of hunger, part out of losing my "tool" for emotional control. It was worse after the first week, when I finally came back home and realized I wanted to eat "out of habit" with my family! UGH! Jello, jello, jello, jello, jello. I hear we will get over it. My hunger is ok now, but I'm so frickin bored with liquid! Next week PROTEIN DRINKS! YOUGURT! APPLESAUCE! OMG, it will be a feast of flavor!!!!!!!I'm hear for ya!Kim banded 2/8/06305/284/150 Kim Clatworthy "You leave smoke in your footprints and heads reeling. Guest guest
I got the blues really bad for a couple weeks too. I think in some regards, the anesthesia has something to do with our seratonin levels. Once it is ALL out of our system, the seratonin goes back up. I am on antidepressants as well, and had to stop taking them for a few days prior to surgery. Then, when you start on them again, it takes a couple of weeks to get the levels back up where they should be. If you continue to feel blue, and are not already taking something, Nortryptiline helps me a lot. I did not do well on Wellbutrin..and besides, it doesn't come in capsule form, where the other does.BIG HUGS, AND GOD'S BLESSINGSDawnita MayLowpass, Oregon10/05/05 dob "Iraida" 209/167/135 5ft 3inches See Mylatest photos at: http://dawnita1961.myphotoalbum.com/
