Guest guest
I don't have much time to post but I sure do enjoy reading everyone's comments. Those of you who are trying to decide what to do, we all understand EXACTLY what you are going through. Please know that this decision has not been made easily by anyone in this group. It would be amazing to know the number of hours spent by group members in research of the lap band before making the final decision. No, I haven't met Dr. A yet because I haven't received my band yet but I am completely comfortable with the decision I have made and my surgery is scheduled for Feb. 24. It feels like that date will NEVER arrive! I don't know exactly why I scheduled it so far in advance!!! But, anyway, I'm sure it will be here before I know it. I, too, have struggled with my weight for many, many years. I have a wonderful husband, 2 wonderful teenage sons (yes, teens can be fantastic!!), I teach high school and LOVE my job (wouldn't do anything else in the world), and I have a relatively stress free life so to speak. However, my weight makes me miserable! I have started to feel the excess pounds in my joints and muscles. I am having to take arthritis medicine, fibromyalgia medicine, and have type II diabetes. All because of my weight!!! My husband has NEVER had a weight problem in his life but he is such an incredible source of support! He is actually the one who found Dr. A while he was doing some of his own research. He is not concerned at all about me going to Mexico...his concern is only that there are risks any time you are put to sleep for surgical procedures. It could happen here in Mobile, in Atlanta, in Boston...at 's Hopkins....ANYWHERE!!! His concern has nothing to do with Mexico or Dr. A. Now, I am still looking for someone who is having surgery on Feb. 24!!! It doesn't seem that anyone is scheduled for that time! It would be more fun to meet someone while I'm there! I selected this particular date because I have the next week off from school for Mardi Gras holidays so I will have plenty of time to recoup! I'm getting soooo excited!!! Guest guest
Good luck on your upcoming surgery. , how long does the process take once you decide you want the surgery. I mean, what are the steps? I should talk to Nina about this and probably will call her on Monday but I was just curious if anyone had any info on this in the meantime? Thanks so much, giftedtch <giftedtch@...> wrote: I don't have much time to post but I sure do enjoy reading everyone's comments.
