I guess I will join in on the roll call here...

Kelli , Atwater CA...banded 1/27/06. No kids, but I do have 4

cats. Been overweight my entire life...in fact, my mother told me

that as soon as I was out into the world, I was sucking on my

fingers already hungry!!! :)

Fill: 4/15/06 4cc's in a 11cc band (VG). ***Photos of fill in photo

section***

I am now 290lbs last weigh in about 1 week ago, but maybe less due

to Auntie Flo visiting here. I've lost 80lbs thus far, looking

forward to hitting the 100 lb loss mark, hopefully by June :) I want

to be at 200 lbs by December, and 170 lbs by my first

anniversary...but it not I will rejoice in whatever weightloss I

do :)

Size 26/28 are baggy, but I still wear them cause I don't have the

$$ to keep buying new clothes, so when they fall off my rear then

that is when I will buy new clothes...which I figure another 20lbs

and I'll be in 22/24's.

Successes: Wow, there are so many...first, today I had to bring up

my seat in my car cause no longer does my stomach rub against the

steering wheel...which was another NSV for me!!! I can fit into my

office chair without hanging over the sides with fat, I walked

5miles without calling for 911...heck I can walk period without

needing oxygen...lol, mowed the lawn front and back without breaking

a sweat..havent done that in 2yrs, just being able to be more

active!!

Struggles: NO MORE BREAD..not even Pita bread!!! Yikes, what a

nightmare that was...I was eating hummus and the place I get it

gives pita bread with it...before the fill I was okay just didnt eat

too much of it...but now, forget it...worst PB ever! Pork is a bit

tough on me, doesnt dissolve good...so may have to either buy

thinner cuts or forego it altogether. Learning to eat slower and

take smaller bites...boy, when you get your fill it does teach you

that in a hurry.

Things going good, I feel good restriction and I've been

relearning...just because you get the band and " THINK " you know what

to do...well eat fill you will have to " relearn " how the band works,

I know I am. :)

Kelli

369/290/250 (end of summer)/200 (Xmas)/180 (1st Anniv)/145 (Summer

07)... at least this is what I hope will happen!!!

Hi Kelli, I know that you went back to Dr. A for your fill. How is it determined on how much "fill" you are going to get?? I hear that some people feel that their fills werent enough or too much. Does he ask you if you think you need more or less?? I am going back to Dr. A on June 10th. Just curious about how it all works. Thanks, Tammy I. Hi Tammy,

He monitors you as you drink the barium and water...when you feel

that it takes more time for the water or barium to pass...I would say

that is good...I mean at least it was for me. I cannot say for anyone

else because everyone is different. I have the VG band so I will get

bigger fills than those with smaller bands. When he gave me my fill

it was an average fill that most VG band patients get between 3 to

5cc's and I got 4cc's. Really be in tune with what is going on, if

you need to pause and really " FEEL " what is going on then let him

know. I told him I wanted to take my time that I wasn't going to come

back till around Sept that I wanted a good fill. I really listened to

my body, of course things can change when you get home...as for me

things are fine, heck I can only eat 2 or 3 oz's at a time...in fact

I like to eat the travel pack of Tuna fish that comes with a 2.5 oz

can and little crackers...that will fill me up for 4hrs before I need

to eat something else. I've learned that with this fill I need to

take my time eating, which when you are the run and dont allow

yourself to eat and you become " Starved " you tend to revert back to

gulping down the food...for me, that doesnt work cause it will come

right back up. I hope this helps!!!

Hi Kelli, Yes that makes sense. I just hope I am in tune with how I am supposed to feel. But Thank You for your description of what to expect. Tammy I. __________________________________________________
