I guess most of us have the best luck

in the childrens sizes for shirts, jackets,

vests, etc. Pants, now thats another

matter! Big enough in the waist, and

the shortest inseam possible.  I get my

pants altered at the local cleaners-

here the going rate is under 10 bucks.

As for shoes, if you shop around you

can find gym shoes with alot of stretch.

I cant bend over  to tie laces anymore, so

all I have is slip-ons, or shoes with the

elastic laces, pre-tied. I have artificial hip

joints, so I cant bend over  very much.

For dress shoes, I have been buying them

from Hitchcock Shoes of Hingham, Ma.

www.wideshoes.com

I discovered  them reading my late Dads

VFW Magazine.  Mens sizes 5-15, 3e to 6e.

Mail order, but I have had good luck so far.

As for boots, today for clearing the walk

outside of snow, I used my trusty Sears Moon Boots.

Plastic bottom, felt liner, pull on with cloth pull

loops my late Mom sewed on. Just hook the cane in

the loops, and pull the boot on! Works like a charm!

Loops sewn on liner and outer vinyl cover, tuck them

inside after you pull up. I got the idea from cowboy

boots, they got the pulls on top.

The stores are only going to carry the stuff they

can sell to the everyday main-stream population that

drives in. You know what I mean.  Ebay has everything!

I love it! Should have bought stock 10 years ago!

And thats it for my 2 kopecks!  Hope this helps somebody!

And be careful walking!  Use that cane, I do. Dont want

to fall. Most falls occur in your own home. Dont make any

fast moves, lean onto something as you bend over. Use those

grabbers or pick-ker-upers also.

And Everybody Have A Safe Holiday Season!

PS:  The local resale shops are terriffic! Check out yours today!

I think that a lot of us are able to buy off the rack clothes for every day wear

and make due. Most likely altering is necessary for business attire, formal

wear and certainly most pants. If you find a good local seamstress you hold on

to them.

Finding appropriate shoes is a matter of persistance, if you look enough

eventually you'll find something. But you do have to continuously look. As for

online shoe shopping; I have to limit it to buying the same model (that I

already purchased locally) but in a different color. I haven't had much success

with first purchases as I need to try it on. And I don't have the time (or

desire) to keep dropping off boxes at the post office for exchanges.

There is no one retailer who will carry a line of clothes for dwarfs, it is not

profitable. There isn't enough demand and our taste as well as varying body

types make it impossible to handle. And especially at a reasonable price. Custom

made clothes need to be fitted and if I need something I absolutely cannot find

I would seek out a good local seamstress.

Now that the holiday shopping madness is coming to an end I foresee a trip to

the mall to take advantage of the multitude of sales. I am bound to find

something I can use and at the right price. And hopefully I won't find too much!
