I think that the other question that Anne needs to ask herself - Is the lump fluid, soft tissue or hard tissue? Fluid and soft tissue would be expected to resolve itself in time, you would think.

Our clinician at CT told us that it was normal fluid retention and it would most likely be there through the duration of him wearing the band. The fluid would then disappear a few weeks AFTER the band was off. His lump hasn't gotten any bigger, but it is definitely there. Did your clinician talk about fluid retention at all with you? How big is the lump that you are talking about? , Jack's momCheshire, CT> Hi all,> > I just came from having Livia's adjustment. Anne:

Call the Calgary clinic and see if you can get in for a second opinion. It's not too far a drive, and you will feel better.

Joanne & When the ridge was smaller I was told it could be fluid retention. now that it is very prominant and bigger than before they are not sure. She has terrible exzema and there is a spot on this ridge, so it is hard to tell if it is hard or soft. it feels hard. In a few days when that eczema patch fades, I should hopefully know more. My ortho is pushing for her to wear it wether it is something that will go away or not. I am not sure that it is the best if it means causing her even more malformation. I do not know what to do. I am going back next week to the ortho. she said that she may have to flare her band then if it is still there and still hard. I am confused. She says it is best for her to wear it for the full 4 months, then she says that she will flare it and she can only wear it for a week or two afterwards. I sometimes wonder if she knows what she is doing. I wish I had the option of seeing another ortho but I do not. damn it! As if it wasn't complicated enough as it is! I was hoping she would wear her band, everything would go smoothly along and her head would get better in a few months. Now we have literally hit "a bump".
