Guest guest
I was discussing this with another LP woman at our recent conference. Discussing different forums, like the women's group at the LPA National Conference, she said that she wants AH women to come participate too. Initially, I was agreeing with her because of the thought that " we are all women " . After thinking about it, I thought " WHY? " . Though my AH sisters and friends can relate to me to some degree, they could never relate to the psycho-social aspects of being an LP woman: - dating/marrying - motherhood from under 4' 10 " - pregnancy I think having the large general groups like dwarfism, are great, but I think there should be an " exclusivity " to other groups because only another LP could relate to what I go through. Guest guest
Hi Ellen and all, I agree with you, we are all women, but when it comes to relationships, pregnancy, and child rearing, some of that does differ than AH women. Someday when it's my time to have a child, I know what to expect from friends and family members and they can give me hints on how to curb morning sickness if I get it, but not everyone has gone through a C-section or high risk pregnancy because of my dwarfism, or how my own dwarf body would react. Those types of things are what I would expect to discuss at an LPA women's event, if it was just something common, then I could discuss that with anyone at anytime. - ________________________________ From: El <hey_elel@...> dwarfism Sent: Wed, April 6, 2011 11:54:08 AM Subject: Groups defining us to the nth degree  I was discussing this with another LP woman at our recent conference.
