Guest guest
Hi Laurie: IF you're debating between the 2 doctors, interview them both, asking how many baby's they've treated with the helmet, ask to see before & after photos (which they should have), ask how often they do check ups while Robin will be wearing the helmet. Is your ped. referring you to a pediatric neurosurgeon or to an orhtotist who will be doing the helmet/band? Is it a locally made helmet Robin would be getting or a STARband from a local hospital? Abby's ped refferred us to a ped. neurosurgeon. Abby's neuro then wrote us an RX for a helmet, and we actually rec'd the STARband (I didn't like our neuro one bit!), the neuro was shocked when he saw the band, he was so clueless (scary!) I'm glad your ped. is so helpful with this - Abby's was as well, it sure does help! After reading all the other parent's posts in here about peds doing nothing, it makes us appreciate our peds. who are on the ball about this issue! Hopefully I gave you a few decent questions to ask. Good luck. Debbie Abby's mom DOCgrad 6/22/01 Michigan > First, I have to say I feel very fortunate to have a ped. who is > taking my girl's flat head seriously.
