Guest guest
Hi Peggy, I had an MRI down over a couple years ago and it was not a bad experience in anyway...maybe i felt a little claustrophic but that was about it and they tell you how to get through that part. I heard on tv just a couple weeks ago that now some medical centers have MRI'S where you are no longer " blocked " in. Those are the newer state of the art...you might try and find a center that has those kind. Otherwise, it was a piece of cake. Raven
Guest guest
Hi, If you are going to be inside the machine any length of time without being pulled in and out, then you have the option of taking a valium just before the proceedure. I have had several and take it as an excuse to rest and relax! I cover up with a blanket, choose type of music I want and then sometimes I even sleep! At first I felt a little claustraphobic and took some deep breaths and I was OK. This is a valuable DX tool and I hope it goes fine for you. Take care, Christie At 05:13 PM 8/30/99 EDT, you wrote: >From: Peggomatic@... > >Hi all, > >I have read a few of the posts about bad MRI experiences. Guest guest
Unless you have a real problem with small space the MRI should be no problem -- good luck Steve MRI's From: Peggomatic@... Hi all, I have read a few of the posts about bad MRI experiences. I am about to get an MRI - this Friday - and would like any tips on how to make it a better experience, because I've been really sick and don't want it to make me much much sicker. I'm also curious if others have had negative experiences. Thanks! Peggy ---------------------------
Guest guest
I don't think anything could happen with a MRI either... I had one , was very tired and walked way to far and remeber signing papers etc and metal stairs. Nurse was not nice once again, Try to take someone with you.......I didn't during those days. It was tight , i think I would have liked feet first if possible. No music, No meds offered, nada nothing.... with some of our BP problems maybe to sit and relax first and then lie on table etc, like if they could not push so fast etc,. Well anyway, i didn't feel so good and it was not from the test it was from my body etc... I just had to go home and rest sleep, My body was in overdrive. Should have relaxed the day before any test. Once again if i knew then what i know now, ! ! Then that evening I drove back to the hospital to see why I reacted the way I did, curious about eveything, Door was shut and I asked nurse May I look in the room, she replied Oh the MRI is gone, The darn MRI was in a tracker trailer, Try to make appts at the time of day you find You are as alert as possible and rested of course. So if you can get music , meds and someone with you, it would be a better experience than I had. Susy dog chasing the mri truck. PS Right Missy.... Guest guest
Hi Connie, MRI's are not x-rays where ray protection is needed. You need to be awake to follow instructions from the operator. You might consider colloidal silver for your UTI's. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/2fd7xs D-Mannose is said to be good for UTI's. I understand the machine can see things that are as small at 2 microns across. Guest guest
Hi Mike, I doubt whether colloidal silver would show up on an MRI, or at least I've never heard of it doing so. Guest guest
Thanks for that instant reply Dudley how wonderful !! There have been a couple of times due to UTI's that I have felt they might say to get one done ,but thankfully HIPREX is keeping it under control...I must say I have never heard of an OPEN one Please explain to me about the rays protection for the operators and why they cannot just give you a nice sleep for the period of the MRI With best regards ....Connie -- MRI's Hi Connie, Some hospitals have MRI machines that are open. Guest guest
Definitely o.k.-- We have titanium staples in our tummies. I also happen to have some titanium in my skull (long story) and my neurologiest prefers an MRI over CT scan. Titanium does not react to the magnetic resonance. :-) Kathy in VA 7/6/06 297/148 MRI's Is it okay for MGBer's to have an MRI?
