Pam, just relax.I lost 115 pounds in the first 18 months and then stopped

losing. I didn't lose any more for another 6 months and then lost another 12 in

the last 12 months, all without trying or dieting. I will never diet again.

Never! I can eat anything I want, just not much of it. Some meals I can eat

normally and then others I can't even finish a hamburger. At 25 pounds in 6

months, you are still losing a pound a week, which is really not that bad. As I

said, relax and enjoy the good health I know you have now, as I do. Take care

and God bless. Bird@...

I am 1 year out now, having lost 125#. My question, has anyone lost

much after 1 year? I still need to lose about 45# but I haven't lost

but 25 in the last 6 months. Do I need to start " dieting " again?

Pam -

Some people slow down quite a bit after the first year, I lost 170 in my first

year and in the past 8 months have lost another 40 pounds. I had a lot of

weight to loss tho, so I lost it pretty quick! Going from 390 to 180 in less

than 22 months - so it can happen. It does depend on each invidual person,

their build, and so on.

Keep up the good work! You are doing great!

Hi Pam:

We all lose the weight at different rates. I do not know if it is due to the

way we absorb food or to the type of food we eat - high fat, high sugar etc.

The weight loss for one of my friends slowed to a crawl at about 10 months

after the MGB, and now she has to watch everything she eats to avoid weight

gain.

I started at 304 and lost 137 lbs in the first year. The second year I lost

a further 30lbs so now I weigh 138lbs. I eat to maintain my weight, so I eat

a lot but I eat very little in the way of high carbs and sugars. I am

allergic to many foods (everything dairy for a start) so I can't have ice

cream or cake. High sugar makes me feel sick.

So yes, for some of us we lose in the second year. For others, watching the

intake has to start during the first year.

It seems to me, that once your weight loss slows down or you start gaining

weight back, that you need to 'diet' or at least watch the carbs and sugars.

Many people find eating the 'weight watchers' way works for them

Good luck

Ann

Hi Pam,

No, I did not go on a diet. I began my plastic surgery adventures!

Check out my photos. Pattie Emmett. I as you was in the mid 300's when

I started and after getting down to low 200's I was not losing anymore

so after seeing Minnie Waters on the MGB friends website, I followed

her lead and I began my plastic surgery, that is when my whole mental

and physical attitude changed. I am heading in next week for the next

step the removal of my batwings and excess leg fat pockets. The

plastic surgery removes all that skin that will NEVER go away no

matter how much weight we lose. So stop worrying and start checking

out good plastic surgeons in your area. That is what you need to do

next!

Hi, Pam,

After 1 year, I had gone from 290 to 158.

Now at my 2nd year anniversary, I am at 113.

So, YES, it is possible that you will continue to lose a significant

amount of additional weight past the 1 year mark.
