Lets see, not much in the tourist aspect is in that area of Brooklyn.

Except the hotel should have a GREAT view of the Macy's 4th of July

Fireworks from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

Also there are two places near by that you should try... Grimaldi's

Pizzeria and the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. The latter is in an old

fireboat house on the river.

In regard to places you mentioned... lots of info for you. :-)

To get to the Letterman theater, you will need to take a cab. Is

a 7.7 mile ride.

's is in a great location of Manhattan... near other famous

stores like FAO Schwarz, Bergdorf Goodman, Barney's and the

underground 24-hour Apple Store... and that area is basically at the

south east corner of Central Park.

Lincoln center is about 6 blocks west and 10 blocks north from there.

There is an amazing 13 screen AMC Loews multiplex. Also has an 8 story

IMAX screen. The main theater and a couple hallways were in You've Got

Mail... the scenes were with Meg & Greg Kinnear.

30 Rockefeller Center is basically in the center of Manhattan. It is

where Saturday Night Live, The Today Show, and Late Night with Conan

O'Brien are located. However, by July, Conan will be in California

replacing Jay Leno. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will be the new show

as of March 2nd.

30 Rock is about halfway between Central Park & Times Square.

The hotel is about 2 miles from China Town. There is a restaurant

there I always recommend to people. It is called New Malaysia at 48

Bowery between Bayard & Canal. It is down an " arcade " (french style

alleyway).

Now... what IS in the area of the hotel??? Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn

Heights Historical District, Brooklyn Public Library. :-)

In regard to public transportation, there is one bus line from near

the hotel to Manhattan that would be quick. That is B51-City Hall.

From it's stop at City Hall, there are many bus lines to get

everywhere. There are 2 subway stations near the hotel. ACF lines

behind it & 2345 lines in front across the street. All 7 lines do go

to Manhattan.

F goes to then splits off to Queens.

2 & 3 go to the west side of Manhattan... but does stop at Times

Square 1st.

4 & 5 do go to the area of FAO & 's, but I don't think the Lex/

53rd is accessible. One would need to take the F to Lex/63rd.

A & C do not have many accessible stops in areas of interest. Sure,

Penn Station @ 34th St... and The Port Authority Terminal at 42nd

St... but nothing northbound until 125th St in Harlem.

Accessibility information can be found here.

Hope my info helps, and if I can be of any other help to anyone... let

me know. :-)

Check out the hotel website. They have much of this info listed.
