Individual health insurance uninsurable

Hi Everyone,

I recently left my job where I had group health insurance. I am looking for

individual insurance (in Florida) and have been denied because of the MGB

surgery--I have been told I am ineligible for

insurance, unless I go into the " high risk " pool. How stupid is that????

I can take COBRA, but its outrageously expensive!

Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions?
