Guest guest
Hello all, Last Thursday my ENT read me the results of my CT Scan which I suspected based on reading things on the WEB was a cholesteatoma in my right mid ear. I was also told that I have the early stages of a second one on my left side. For years I have had ear aches, infections and a feeling of fullness in my ear. Dr's always just said it was an infection and prescribed me antibiotics. Sometimes it helped, sometimes it didn't. I'm not good about seeing the Doctor so I just lived with it for years. It progressively got worse and really affected my hearing. My ENT doctor sent me to a " Cholestatoma/Surgeon " to review my CT Scan results in more detail and tell me what options I had. Surgery was not an option. Rather than the question of if I should have surgery it was a question of when I wanted to have it. She shared with me the various complications that could occur and what the recovery would be like. I feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel but it is just hitting me and I am becoming scared and nervous. I guess i am just writing this to comfort others or maybe get a little comfort myself. Thanks,
