Guest guest
Endoscopy is usually done in the hospital(out patient) and you are put to sleep and then discharged that same day. Guest guest
Thanks to everyone that responded. Here they have a Clinic that is for endoscopies and the such, and it is away from the hospital. They only do twilight there and I didn’t know that going in. To boot the doctor was an ass, like I didn’t know anything. Talked to me like I was 2. I am not opposed to a hospital setting this is how they do it down here and I didn’t know that. The more I think about it…the more it worries me to go to someone who isn’t specialized in achalasia, even though that is not what the endoscopy is for…they still have to go down that route. I just don’t know right now..I’m in a rough situation. I’ve had lots of health issues and my husband just started his job here, so he can’t keep taking off of work to take me to appointments and stuff. I have small children at home, money is tight…well I could go on but I think you get the picture. If I could I would go to CCF to figure out what is going on. And unless I wanna wait 2 more months and make arrangements then it isn’t possible. OH I JUST HATE ALL OF THIS. By the way great to hear you made it through Isabella!!! Guest guest
I wonder if the doctor just didn't take the time to explain, not sure, but maybe he/she was worried about the risk of perforating during an endoscope? Isn't there a higher risk of perforation if we have achalasia? During twilight don't we still wiggle around a lot and if there is a perforation you want someone close to fix it that knows what they are doing? Seems like the gi who did mine said I fought against it a lot. Have you had an ultrasound? Maybe there are adhesions or something in the "female arena?" Or appendicitis starting. Sorry you are having trouble. Wouldn't it be so much easier if all these aches and pains showed up on the outside of our bodies? I understand your frustration too. Going down the path of mysterious pain and misery again is not an unfamiliar feeling and who wants to do that again? Guest guest
Sandy He did say that he wanted me completely relaxed and that there would be no chance of me fighting them..which I did do ONCE in the past. He said with the pain meds that I’m taking now he was afraid of hurting me more then helping if I’m not comfortable. He didn’t speak very good English. I have nothing against foreigners here…I just wish they would communicate a little better with us is all. Kind of like me going to china and trying to tell them how to cook an apple pie!!!! I’m sure he had his reasons he just didn’t convey them well and I got frustrated!!! Guest guest
I know, it was frustrating. I probably would have yelled and then cried. You were ready for it, hoping to get some kind of diagnosis and then he just delayed you, double frustrating. So many doctors are or just pretend to be so smart they don't learn good communication skills and the language barrier can be huge. Not blaming you. Deep down he was probably frustrated also. He should have told you that earlier though. (make sure he doesn't get paid). Can anyone translate? Probably not, maybe his office staff could have explained it better. But I would have just done the ugly crying and whimpered home. Guest guest
Sandy I did cry and whimper home!!!! Good gosh, I have had this pain for almost 3 months now..I had a fever for 15 days then it went away for a week or so and now..its back again. I just sometimes feel helpless and I guess the cry did me some good!!! Thanks for letting me know that I’m NOT the only frustrated, crying, psycho woman out there right now!!! Guest guest
Sandy wrote: .... they don't learn good communication skills and the language barrier can be huge. ... This may have nothing to do with this case, but I would hate to have to communicate medical decisions to the general public without knowing just what each person already knows and understands. There are non-medical but technical things that I try to explain to others around me, often because they have asked a question, and I end up feeling like I am walking in a mine field. It is so easy to make people feel that you are insulting their intelligence, but if I speak above what they understand they will also hold that against me. If I ask a question to see what they know, (I often do that to understand the questions they ask), they may feel that I am setting them up to look stupid. This is in a setting where I usually have more time than a doctor office visit. The worst cases are when I have someone that is in some way my superior and they need to know something that is counterintuitive but they don't know what they need to know to understand the truth. I can explain it but they won't believe it. notan
Guest guest
, I'm so sorry to hear that you're having so many problems! What a frustrating day you had, too! I just wanted to add that maybe some endoscopies are tougher than others. My brother has Ulcerative Colitis, so he's had many, many colonoscopies over the years, without complications. A few years back, though, they did an ECRP on him (the scope where they check the duct to the gall bladder - I think that's what it's called, anyway). Well, he said it was difficult and they told him he was fighting them during the procedure. I think this test could be the one they were going to do for you and I think it's a little tougher than an EGD or colonoscopy. Hang in there and I hope you can get some relief soon! > > > > Well I went in this morning for an endoscopy to see if they could > > > figure out > > > > why I have pain where my gall bladder was.well the doctor down here is > a > > > > (excuse me I'm really frustrated) dick. Guest guest
I don't think you are as old as I am, 50... but you may have to cut back or eliminate mascara in the future because the tears can come even quicker than when you were younger. If you wear waterproof mascara, it just makes clumps and falls into your contacts and makes your eyes look worse even longer. So no mascara becomes the new norm. Welcome to middle age! Guest guest
Wanted to add my own experience in on this one! In 96, (with Kaiser HMO Ca) I had a scope and fought it with twilight and bit through a $20,000 instrument being used at that point. Never again. Next time I was put out, had to fight for a year with Doctor to be put out, they did not want to do it. But I won. When I told this story to my new medical team at U.ofW. they did not like the way it was handled. Being put out is simple and easy when in the right Doctor hands. Guest guest
I’ll jump in on this one. I, too, had always had the endoscopy done with the twilight medicine. Until this last one in November, I did fine. However, I fought the doctor and nurses. One nurse told me that I sat up and was kicking and flailing my arms. Totally unexpected. They gave up (but got the colonoscopy done J) and re-scheduled the endoscopy. The GI doc brought in an anesthesiologist doc who gave me more meds to knock me out even more. And, he said I still was somewhat combative. Told me I probably need to be completely knocked out for the next ones. I was really surprised. Relieved to hear in this group that this has happened to other people. Jan in Portland, OR Re: Hey Everyone > > > > , > I'm so sorry to hear that you're having so many problems! Hello Mr nameless ;-) You can use any of the camellia sinensis teas, all same plant but different processing: White, green (unfermented/unoxidised), Oolong (half-fermented) Black (fully oxidised/fermented). The terms oxidised and fermented are often used meaning the same in tea literature, although the process is actually an oxidation process. I brew my Kombucha from a mixture of some of the above or all. Even within the Green tea there are hundreds of different grades and prices. You do not have to use the most expensive teas for Kombucha. Ordinary proper tea works very well. I prefer a large proportion of green tea in my Kt brew. You will never come to an end experimenting with different teas, different mixtures and different amounts. Its healthy fun! Guest guest
Hi, I would also love a list like this if anyone has made one already... it's on my 'to do' list, sure would be great to have all the hard work done already... ;-) Can anyone tell me if there are differences between vaxes depending which country you are in? ie. if someone in the US had a list, would there be anything that *wasn't* applicable here in Australia...? Hope that makes sense. Cheers! Thanks. She wants more info on each of them or perhaps theres a good website to refer me to for her. > > Thanks, > heidi >
Guest guest
The CDC has made these lists available for us. One table is listed by excipient, the other by vaccine. Here they are: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/downloads/appendices/B/excipient-table\ -1.pdf http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/downloads/appendices/B/excipient-table\ -2.pdf Here is another awesome resource: http://www.novaccine.com/vaccine-ingredients/ On Thu, Jul 2, 2009 at 11:26 AM, trtleduv96<trtleduv96@...> wrote: > > > I know some of you guys have made a list of the vaccines and what they > contain and some of the issues with each adn what not is there anyway I can > get someone to send me that sort of list so I can give it to a friend of > mine who just had a baby?
