Guest guest
source: http://www.emofree.com/fear/agorapho.htm A Fears & Phobias Case History File From the EFT email support list Agoraphobia, panic attacks and energy toxins Hi Everyone, Irene Schoenfeld submitted this case for our perusal/assistance. It is one of those " tough " cases where the problem seems to keep " coming back. " The pivotal area here is in panic attacks that come and go. My comments are interspersed within Irene's letter. Irene's letter: I have been working with a lady that had agoraphobia, panic attacks, and a lot of anxiety. I started working with her in September and have seen her 3 times and consult with her on the phone at least once a week. Progress report: The first week: 8th of Sept Treatment: I taught her EFT. She did it 10 - 20 times a day on panic and anxiety. Outcome: She was feeling amazing. Almost all of her symptoms had gone away. She didn't feel panic or anxiety and her outlook became more positive. The next few weeks: Treatment: Cont. tapping on panic and anxiety. Outcome: She felt she had regressed but not to where she was when we started. Over the next few weeks she reported that she was able to go and do her laundry in the apartment laundromat. 3 out of 4 times she was fine and once she was panicky but managed to do it. GC COMMENT: Important!! In the vast majority of our cases, whenever we use EFT to bring an emotional difficulty to zero, it stays that way. This one didn't. At least not in 1 out of 4 times. This is unusual. When EFT takes care of a problem, that problem doesn't just " come and go. " It " goes " and that's it. When it doesn't do this we need to look for an additional cause and energy toxins are the likely candidate here. IRENE CONTINUES: She still felt more positive. She was able to go to the store and the Dr. without having someone escort her in the door. The MD was extremely pleased with her progress and said she was more positive. Week 3: 22 Sept Treatment: We worked on Anxiety Outcome: Similar to above client was able to do more than before. Had visitors in her apartment. First time in many years. Not freaking out when before she would of in certain situations. Laughed at the Drs. office. Legs aren't turning to jelly any more. Feeling like she is getting lazy because she is not worried about stuff so much so she is not motivated to do things. GC COMMENT: Not " worried about stuff so much " sounds like real progress to me. Not being motivated sounds like another aspect to be addressed separately. IRENE CONTINUES: Week 6: 18 Oct Treatment: Tapping on Anxiety, Worrying and being Lazy. Outcome: She changes her subjects as she feels necessary. During this period she got ill with a breast infection and was on antibiotics for 2 weeks which knocked her out - lots of sleeping. At the end of the antibiotics the infection was gone but not the lump. The client tapped regarding the lump. On November 1 she went out to get clothes and went into full panic again. After that she was not able to do the grocery shopping without someone to hold on to and that was difficult. Back in her apartment she was suffering from panic attacks all day Sunday and Saturday. She said she tapped like crazy on panic and nothing was helping. GC COMMENT: This is a MAJOR CLUE that energy toxins are the culprit. At times she has complete relief (even feels amazing) and then, for no apparent reason, panic sets in. Yes, there may be more aspects involved but remember that this lady is tapping 10-20 times per day and so any material aspects involved have likely been addressed. IRENE CONTINUES: When she called me on Tuesday I suggested she continue on panic and add anxiety and even though I feel I am not getting any better I love and accept myself (because she feels that she will never get any better and that now she has had some freedom she will go back into her jail of panic attacks). Her Ulcer and hernia are acting up. She tapped all day on Monday and the panic didn't come back. GC COMMENT: Why didn't the panic come back on Monday? Why did EFT appear to work on Monday when it was powerless on Saturday and Sunday? This is another clue regarding energy toxins because EFT just doesn't work that way. This suggests that whatever was bothering her system on Saturday and Sunday had left her system on Monday. I predict that the next time she comes in contact with the offending substance, she will go off into another panic attack. IRENE CONTINUES: My faith is being tested big time here. Let us hope that this lady is ready to get well and doesn't have to live in a jail of panic for the rest of her days. Peace, Irene Schoenfeld GC COMMENT: In my limited (and anecdotal) experience, panic attacks are often NOT an emotional disorder. I know it appears that way because the client is having extreme emotions at this point and often think they are going to die. I believe most panic attacks are caused by an offending substance (energy toxin) that is either on, or ingested by, the client. It is irritating them no end and is causing all those reactions. For this person it is a poison. In one case I know a lady who panics whenever she puts on a certain blouse. In another case a young lady panics when she drinks alcohol. Remove these substances from their environment and they are fine. How do you discover these energy toxins? You must play detective and pay attention to the clues. The most obvious thing you can do is to assume that the panic attack was caused by an energy toxin and then quiz the client about everything they did within 2 or 3 hours before the attack. What did they eat? Did they change clothes? Did they use a different underarm deodorant or hair spray? Did they put on perfume? Did they wear different glasses? Then, when the panic attack " wears off " find out what they are no longer doing. Please note that the offending substance probably seems very routine to the client or they would have discovered it a long time ago. I spoke with Irene on the phone regarding her client and used my intuition to ask what the client might gorge on from time to time, thereby overloading the system. Irene said " sugar. " In your EFT manual, you will note that sugar is one of the more likely energy toxins and so we have a good starting point in this case. Have the client keep a journal of her sugar intake and notice if there are parallels between that and panic attacks. Depression, by the way, is another emotional problem that is sometimes caused by energy toxins. Remember both Todd and Grace from the EFT videotapes? Their depression subsided ONLY after ridding themselves of wheat, corn and sugar (in Todd's case) and dairy and sugar (in Grace's case). Let me also note that, even though the client here is having recurring panic attacks, I didn't hear anything about other progress seeming to regress. If other progress seems to be sticking, this is yet more evidence that EFT is doing its job but that energy toxins are causing the panic attacks. I hope this helps. Love, Response from Marie Green Re: recurring agoraphobia & panic attacks I too believe this is a case where toxins are the culprit. I think the woman was making progress until she was placed on antibiotics. These probably caused an overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria in her gut including yeast. I would suspect that she had some sugar which causes the yeast to overgrow. There are many many symptoms to yeast problems. Basically, sugar would cause her problems in its many forms including lactose (milk), fructose, dextrose, glucose, and on and on. She may regain success with EFT on agoraphobia/panic IF she continues EFT as prescribed, stops all sugars and goes on the Yeast Free regimen for a time. There are additional considerations, i.e., is she on hormones, is she obese, is she on other medications which eliminate the normal flora in the gut??? Sometimes the overgrowth of the yeast can create intoxication just as if she were drinking alcohol. This by itself could be and possibly is another toxin which may play a part. I think there are many times when some of the clinicians may ignore some of the biological issues. We see this in a big way with the pharmaceutical treatment of psychological problems., i.e., the hypothesis of a " chemical imbalance " is proffered and then a prescription is written. The client/patient is not asked what is going on in life. Just slip 'em a pill. BUT, there are times when the physiological needs to be considered such as the yeast issue. In order to consider some of these biological things one needs to be studying such! Good luck. Marie Green
