Guest guest
Nikkie I know about little changes. My goal is to not eat after dinner tonight. My worst food time is at night when my son is in bed and my husband is at work. g. > Hi Gretchen and WELCOME! > I am new here too and have already gotten some good ideas and tips! > I am currently trying to get motivated to get back on the weight lose > bandwagon again. > I have tried to lose weight over and over again and never saw any rewards > for my efforts. > Consequently, I lost my fight. Guest guest
I understand that. I have that same problem... once the kids are in bed & no one can see me eating! I also have a binge time in the morning.... Breaking these two, I will loose weight! Gretchen Pearce wrote: > > Nikkie I know about little changes. My goal is to not eat after > dinner tonight. Guest guest
Welcome Gretchen.... Well I am going to kill to birds with one stone. I promised to introduce myself to Nikkie later so here I am for the both of you. I am 41 years old. Married ... husband Ali -- He is muslim & from Morocco -- I tell you this because sometimes it is very pertinent to why I am feeling low... we have alot of challenges... 3 kids.... Miriam 10 years, 8 years & 6 years old. We own a Northern Italian Restaurant... I work from home not in the restaurant... Ali does all of that. I have a degree in Music (Opera mostly)... I am going back to school to get my teaching certificate.. probably in English. I love theater & do alot of performing (though that will end when I start school) My children too, love theater. I have been overweight all of my life (with the exception of about 1+ years... I got thin with Optifast. I am always battling my weight... I have a very low self esteem... I binge like crazy... I had to quit smoking this summer due to health... I have not totally recovered yet and happy with the fact that I have not " gained " weight from not smoking. (Though I keep going up & down a few pounds) I would like to loose right around 100 pounds... though right now I would be thrilled with 10! I can't seem to get anywhere right now... this summers' sickness played a toll on me & my attitude. My exercise of choice is water aerobics... I also like to walk and my least favorite is TAPES. Though I might try talking to & the other exercisers as Eleanora suggested... I need to escape reality!!!! Okay... did I hit all the hot spots? Welcome ladies!!! Guest guest
>>>>>>>>>Kim, You have such a beautiful family!!!! I love it when I can put a face to the name! Thanks for sharing this picture. By the way you are very pretty! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Thank you so much Nikkie I really needed to hear that. I like myself with bangs better and am really struggling with what the Bible says about a women having long hair. So I get very frustrated with my hair right now because I let them grow out when I saw that verse. But I am sure if I just keep praying about it that the Lord will either help me to accept my hair and the way it looks with it all long. Or He will show me if it is alright to cut my bangs. Guest guest
Welcome Lynda! We are a chatty group who have become friends as well as online buddies. Please join us..... our list moms encourage us to talk soap, family, current events, etc. You'll love it here. You are from Farmington? I'm originally from Walworth/Ontario but am now in Livonia (southwest of you). I have a tiny business of soap, toiletries, etc. as well as teaching third grade during the day and adult classes in the evenings (soapmaking, quilting). Glad to have you join us! Guest guest
Hey Lynda! Glad you caught a second to do your intro! Sorry, but I had to laugh about the poor cat! I'm glad I have no pets to spill anything on. Although I do have a very curious 2 1/2yr. old who manages to get underfoot when I'm soaping. My kids are still using the fish soaps you sent home with . gets a kick out of it when I tell her the fish are cleaning her & not mommy! I haven't burned the candle yet though, it looks too cute to use! Take care! Colleen Country Meadow Creations
Guest guest
Welcome Lynda! I'm Shaye and I live up in Ontario, just east of Rochester up by the lake . I have been soaping for abour 4ish years doing cold process and I also make other bath and body products. Welcome to the group!! ShayeThe Soap Shackwww.mysoapshack.com -----Original Message-----From: Lynda Stark [mailto:lstark@...]Sent: Wednesday, January 02, 2002 10:16 PM Subject: Hello There Hello Everyone!! Now that the Hectic Holidays are mostly over (at least until Valentine's Day) I have a few minutes to introduce myself. I have been dabbling in melt-and pour soaps, candles, clay pins, and bath and body products for about the last 8 months or so and was invited to join the list by Colleen!! I was working with her dh and we got to talking about what we do in what little spare time we have and when I told him he said "my wife does that too! You should really talk to her!". So thanks to Colleen I now have a resource for fixing many of my soaping faux pa's!! I live in Farmington, NY which is just east of Rochester. I have a pretty good basic soap pouring knowledge just from the experimenting I have done, but I still have a lot to learn. I can tell you that it takes a while to get blue soap off of a cat (mostly because you have to catch the cat first before you can get it into the water to get off the soap you spilled on it when it jumped up on the counter in the middle of your pouring frenzy!! HA HA!). I would love to be able to do some of those more natural soaps....but with everything I have been trying (ecspecially candles) I have not gone beyond the melt and pour yet. I do make lotion, shower gel and lip balm too. Although since I buy the bases and just add color\fragrance\flavor I suppose I am doing those the easy way too...LOL! I would love to be able to do these things by home recipe but I know I would never have the time or money to buy everything seperate and concoct my own formulas!! It is really nice actually belonging to a group that has members nearby (for me that means in the same state)!! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. Guest guest
Hi Lynda, Welcome! I'm sure you'll find this list helpful... we have a full range of makers out there ranging from cold process to hot process to melt and pour and so on... I think we have it all covered except for maybe transparent soap making for now. I'm about to try my hand at it in a week or so.... I'll keep everyone posted and ask the list for good, non-blowing up my house, thoughts on the day I try it LOL Kick back and relax here..... we stray off topic, but thats ok. You can run garage sales, fast-buys and co-ops if you want too. Only thing us list moms ask is that it's something legal No selling or trading of first born or husbands as tempting as it can be at times Terri
Guest guest
Wowee! Congratulations Lyn! Very exciting! Shaye hello there hello everyone. how is everyones week going?? no one has posted in a few days so we all must be busy. i have a little good news to share..... the tattoo shop that we sell our soaps at asked us to make a tattoo balm that has good stuff for taking care of new tattoos. so we played around with different recipies for a few monthes and finally came up with one that we liked. we made a dozen 2 oz. tins and took them to the tattoo dude. he loves them!!! he bought those dozen.....ordered 100 more ASAP and......put in a future order of 1000 tins for the end of feb.!!!!! he is going to a bikers/tattoo convention in daytona and wants to take them! WOW, we are just in shock from this. so now we are waiting on our order of tins so we can get busy with that order. plus we really got to get busy on making our regular stock of soap. our inventory is almost gone and we need some curing time before the maple festival. we don't know if we have gotten approved yet but we are still crossing our fingers. gotta go to work now. have a bubbly day everyone!!! lyn Our Message Board http://www.voy.com/21568/ Check out these great Molds!! http://soapwerks.com/martinworld.htm Member Kae's Site... Guest guest
Hi all- I stumbled upon this group while looking through some cholesteatoma research. I've suffered from chronic cholesteatoma over the past 6 years and it's really refreshing to see a group for this. I've really struggled with dealing with this as my situation worsens, so I'm excited to talk to others who are going through what I am. Hope to hear from you all soon! ---Kate
