Guest guest
In the beginning Rick mentions seeing a random kid on the street with Albinism, who was about 12 years old, and he said she was beautiful. When he said that it reminded me of a similar incident that happened to me at Kentucky Fried Chicken, about 5 years ago now. She was with her mom, who did not have the condition and her little brother, who also lacked it. The only difference was she was about 14, 15, maybe 16, and she had a solitary light red streak going down her hair, but she was sooooo pretty I keep looking at her. I was going to even tell her that she is beautiful as I was about to leave with my mom, but I didn't:(. I regretted that I didn't, to this day, because one thing she also did like the other Albino girl Rick later met and photographed, was that she kept looking down or away. And not only when I was looking at her, and I related to her doing that, BIG TIME, unfortunately. She had become conditioned, be it from society, TV, environment, ads, perhaps even peers and what have, that she was not beautiful.... Instead to them or others, she was ugly:(. BUT to me, she was one of the MOST beautiful girls I had ever seen, so much so, that to this day my memory of her is still a witness to that feeling. Seeing this video reminded of how we may have done that too, when others look at us. Because we may be too sooo used to others looking at us, waiting for them to make fun, but instead they may be looking at us because they think we are beautiful:). But, I also know, that feeling or thinking one self is beautiful must come from within, and we are;) + . In Rick's vid you see others, including an lp named, Nadia, who is a medical student towards the end. ~grady
