Hi, I googled " calorie counter " and came up with many different

choices. I have been using the about.health site. It has a cool

recipe analyzer where you type in a recipe and it breaks the calories

and nutrition down for you. It also tracks your exercise too. I liked

it. It showed me about my eating habits and helped me make some

changes for the better. Email me if you have any questions. Thanks,

Using the website as a guide can help you track the things you eat. If you have high blood pressure or diabetes or the potential for either health concerns or others you can see how much sodium, carbs and fats you are consuming. Even foods that are good for you if eaten in excess can be harmful to your body. Don't drive yourself nuts! Find the ballpark figures, use your common sense, determine and avoid the kinds of foods that are most likely to cause weight gain for you (different for everyone--I have a professor who took off a huge amount of excess weight by avoiding carbs - even complex - altogether), and work around that. You'll find that there's lots of stuff that's delicious and healthful that'll agree with your goals. Calorie counter I know my breakfast smoothie was very healthy, but is there a website that could easily tell me about how many calories my healthy drink contains? Right now as a "newbie" I am getting carried away, but want to find some great recipes that are both healthy and not overpacked in calories. I would probably be the first person to gain weight using a vitamix machine. Even if it was "healthy" weight gain.

I agree completely, and would go so far as to also add that these data are subject to the same inconsistencies, for the same reasons, as caloric content and should also be considered approximations. I didn't mention it because the request was specifically for a calorie-counter.

I don't count calories. When I want to loose weight (which is all of the time for me) I cut down on fats (except the healthy omega 3 fats) and replace grain carbs with fruit carbs. When I do this I never limit my fruits at all. I eat unlimited fruits, low-carb veggies and lean, organic meats. In this way I never have to count calories and I can eat as much as I want! (you should see how HUGE some of my salads and cold green soups can be!

I'm not saying that I NEVER eat grains, but I keep them to a bare minimum and again, if I've gained some weight I eliminate grains for a while and the weight drops.

All of that being said, I am sure that you can find a good calorie counter here:
