Guest guest
Hi Colette, How many processors depends on the insurance. I know Medicare and Medicaid generally provide ONE. My insurance provided two. I started with a body worn (BWP) and received the Esprit BTE about 6 months later. When the 3G came out, I bought that. And when my implant center closed because of the death of the implant surgeon, I bought a second 3G. But it depends on your insurer how many processors you get. He was only given the BTE processor, nothing else, no body processor nor a second BTE. This operation took place about 2 years ago. I am wondering if this is a common practice? Does anyone have information that would be helpful? Everyone that I know has at least a second BTE or a body worn processor for back up. This person has none. He is having great difficulty hearing anything, and feeling llike just not using it. The body unit is much more powerful so I am surprised that they did not first try it on him. He was insured at the time. Thanks for any information on this issue Colette Noble
