Today after work I picked up my new Oticon Sumo hearing aid for my

unimplanted ear. The program my audie thought should have been right for me was

waaay

too loud but, like with the CI, I am trying to acclimate to the sound and turn

up the dial a little bit more when I can.

But WOW! I really like the sound of having more bilateral hearing and this

hearing aid has a good sound. I wouldn't give up one moment of not having used

the hearing aid for the past 5 years so that I could get such great benefit

from the implant alone. But I guess it just took me 5 years to accept more help

for the other ear!

Congratulations ,

I'm glad your new hearing aid is working out for you so well. For a

long time after I received my 3G implant I used a Phonak Super on one side,

but I suddenly lost all but 2 percent of my hearing and I had the Freedom

for my right ear. Isn't bilateral hearing of any type fantastic? Larry
