Guest guest
Jim, After the activation, what kind of experience did you have with learning to process the sounds you heard. It really hit me yesterday that I'm going to hear so much that I've *never* heard before as I had no hearing in the middle to high frequencies. I know each person's experiences are different so I'm trying to learn about many different experiences to better prepare myself. I do lipread well, having been doing that since birth. I lipread well enough that my Mom couldn't convince doctors that I had a hearing loss until I was 5 years old :}. The audiologist said that will be a huge help for me as I learn to process the speech sounds I hear. Before losing my residual hearing, I only heard vowels and some of the harder consonants. in SC in process of hopefully becoming a CI candidate
