Guest guest
In the last week there have been over 220 floods in the state of Michigan with 40 counties being affected. Several townships and counties are struggling to meet the needs of their residents. There are over 3,000 homes affected in 3 counties, with 2 counties being declared a state of emergency so far. Several counties are expecting to make that list in the upcoming days. Mold Relief, Inc. has been touring Livingston County and working with the town officials of Hamburg Township to help the residents in that area. There are over 105 homes in this area that have been affected by floods along the Ore Lake and Little Ore Lake. Streets have been evacuated and electricity and gas turned off. Other residents were allowed to stay in their homes, but cautioned to follow safety guidelines. The Salvation Army and Red Cross are in the area and have been providing clean up supplies, food and beverages to the many volunteers in the area. Airistar Technologies from Waukegan, IL, Envirotech of Stoneham, MA, Aerotech P & K Laboratories of Phoenix, AZ, Pro Lab of Weston, FL, have been providing supplies and equipment to help the families most effected. Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration and Certification (IICRC) www.iicrc.org, Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) www.iaqa.org and American Association of Restoration Contractors (AAORC) www.aaorc.com have also provided assistance for the Michigan flood victims.
