I developed a severe colon problem upon exposure to the mold in the school

where I taught - it went away only after 9 months of torture and pain, when I

went to a gastroenterologist who tested etc., and prescribed metronadizole. I

had to take it three times for three weeks, over a period of three months before

it got rid of the problem. The doctor said that the medical community doesn't

know why metronadizole works for irritable bowel, which is what they called

it then. Now I know that it was very likely due to the mold, in hindsight, four

years later. Also, the thyroid can be impacted by mold - doesn't that have to

do with growth? Maybe have that tested? I am not a medical person, but

learning from those who know so much on this discussion board.

If it was me, I would take him to a mold specialist - even if it meant

traveling. On the advice of a discussion board member, whose name I can't find -

but

thanks - I called Dr. in Spring TX at 281-681-8989 (thanks

Staceylynn7777) - they were so nice to me - they have an environmental medical

clinic there and Dr. has conducted joint research on mold patients

with Dr. Kaye Kilburne, of University of Southern CA Keck School of Medicine, a

physician I consulted with who gave me my first decent (great) diagnosis.

Maybe calling there will give you some help. They seemed ok and if he worked

with

Dr. Kilburne, I'd say he must be good.

Good luck, I hate to think of children suffering from this stuff - it is bad

enough for us adults to handle. That is why moldy schools drive me crazy - it

is so unfair to the kids.

Hi - Has anyone out there ended up with duodenal erosions after

their toxic mold exposure, or know anything about recovering from

them???

My infant son had developed an intestinal aspergillus overgrowth

& had immediately quit growing upon exposure to the mold in our home.

He is now almost 3 & still has significant growth delay. His recent

colonoscopy & biopsy showed 6 inches worth of " active, chronic,

moderate erosions of the duodenum. " At least this explains WHY he

won't grow because of the significant damage to this area of the small

intestine where everything is absorbed.

The cause was " unknown etiology, " and the usual causes of celiac

disease & H. pylori were negative. The doctors don't know how to

correct it, but all agree he will never grow right with such severe

damage.

I thought I might take a chance & see if anyone on this list

knows anything

that could help my son.

Thanks,

Souza, R.D.H.

HELLO SB and you are VERY WELCOME! My name is Stacey and I live in southwest

florida. Dr. Cambpell is very good and reallly knows his stuff when it comes

to these molds and mycotoxins. He and Dr. Kilburn have written what will

someday soon be published in the medical journals for the rest of these " follow

the leader " mentality professionals who take years and years to catch on to

the anything other than what is listed in their big red book of " answers " .

Yes, whoever this child is and to his parents, please do his little

innocence a favorable justice and get him to a specialist such as Dr.

or Dr.

Ritchie Shoemaker in land.

My prayers,

Stacey in Florida

Regarding Intestinal Erosions... me and my twin sister have used

Ulcinex by Metagenics - along with DGL Licorice... has really

helped... See this link at Metagenics:

http://www.metagenics.com/products/catalog/detail.asp?pid=110

Some of their other products that have helped: Ultra Clear Sustain

(can only take if if you don't have Candida or high leveles of mold in

the gut) Ultra Clear is also very good for de-tox.
