Guest guest
and Annette, On a personal note I am or was also a teacher by profession. I don't know what part toxins played in my becoming ill - I am sure it was part of the picture. But what I want to share is to encourage you, Annette, to get out of that building if you have not already. Don't be afraid to lose your career. I'm finding my life has taken several exciting turns I would never have experienced if I had continued teaching full time. I still do tutoring and could do much more if I wanted to. I also do biotech research for a son who is a stock trader. I am trying to write a couple of books and I do a fair amt of public speaking both for CFIDS and religious. The job is not worth losing everything which is what will happen if you don't recover. Wish you the best, a Carnes I really appreciate the postings on this site. My wife Annette has been made terribly ill this year after exposure to mold in the school where she has worked for 12 years. Because of the specific circumstances in her case, I am absolutely certain that mold is the cause of her chronic fatigue, congestion, and weakened immune systems. Until she began back at work this year, she was active, energetic, and healthy. Blood testing from Immunosciences Lab revealed extraordinarily high levels of stachybotris in her saliva and blood. Your postings have kept me spellbound and have helped her feel less alone in all of this. The dreadful way her employer, the Highline School District, has responded is a depressing, but apparently common, story of deceit and ineptitude. Anyway, thank you for posting messages to this site. It has become an invaluable resource to me. Arthur, husband of Annette Shillinger

Guest guest
and Annette, You are both in my prayers. I, too, am a former school teacher - who would still be teaching if it weren't for toxic mold in my school. It is an eye opener as I learn more about toxins and as I witness how the school district treats me and others who become ill. It makes me very sad to see how a school district could care more about their pocket book than the health and well-being of teachers and kids. Unfortunately, there are too many stories like ours. But at least we can support each other while we are going through the challenges we face. God Bless, ML

Guest guest
I feel for you people getting sick in schools and how the system handles it. I got sick in a government basement. They were torture. God Bless, Janet

Guest guest
As a teacher who is losing my career due to mold, I have to agree with you, a - it becomes impossible to be in the sick buildings that public schools often are. There is no choice but to give up a beloved profession to attempt to become healthy.
