I definitely have seen moldy washing machines, both in residences and

commercial laundries. Some of the front loaders I've seen at

laundromats have mold growing in the rubber gasket in the door

window -- big black and green colonies. Watch for this when using

public facilities.

I suppose the mold is growing on residual soaps or oils from the

clothing that have steamed thier way up into the nooks and crannies.

So, I doubt that a full decon could be done -- what is growing is

probably what you've intoduced, and as such is specifically what you

are sensitized to?

I've had good luck with Borax on my clothing and camping equipment,

but for MCS'ers, it's pretty strong stuff. I've gotten spacey using

too much of it.

I'd say you should lose that machine.

( the other one!)
