No wonder they have worn ruts so deep that it is almost impossible for them to climb out of them. It is obvious that for all practical purposes politics has failed to deliver the type of reform we need to get to the root of this problem. To expect them to do so will only cause us to become discouraged and lose hope. Like my father used to say when someone asked for directions to a remote place: " you can't get there from here - you have to go somewhere else to get started. " Maybe all we can hope for is to plant a seed and hope that it grows. What surprises me is that Bush should know better. He has had intimate contact with the dangers of mold - both in the governor's mansion in Texas and within his family (where one of his brother's children ended up permanently deaf in one ear). He shows all the signs of neurotoxin damage himself - they way he loses his train of thought in midsentence, the misuse of words and the substitution of a word that is close - but not exact, and his need for extended rest. For those of you who favor his candidacy, I am not bashing the man for these traits, but simply observing what I have seen in so many others exposed to moldy environments. I have also heard that he is known for talking to himself aloud - a trait that my supervisor was well known for. He would have loud animated conversations with an empty chair - a spooky thing to get used to. Often he would get confused and lose his place when talking during staff meetings, getting the look of a deer caught in headlights while he fumbled to get back on track. With no apparent reason for their discomfort, they look at the irritability of the person next to them and blame their own increased irritability on the bad mood and strange behaviors of the person next to them - little realizing they are both doing the same thing. A perfect recipe for mold induced divorce syndrome. The other thing is that higher mental functions diminish considerably during exposure and people having neurotoxic reactions seem not only incapable of using logic, they amazingly lose the very recognition of the need to consider logical arguments as being more relevant in problem solving than acting from purely emotional considerations. Whether or not this applies to the presidents actions, I leave to your judgement. -

This statement makes me so mad, if freaks me out. What a bummer.
