Guest guest
Hi Reid, I tried here in Michigan, it is almost impossible to get. I got bit in school, thier story was I could not be sure if the tick got on me in the street, or when I crossed the curb onto the school grounds. My lawyers spent a fortune, they wanted to win for lyme so badly, went as far as they could. The school district spent abou $10,000 trying not to pay me 4 weeks pay. Just yesterday I was looking over Brinchman's site on mold advice (www.schoolmoldhealth.org) and was very impressed by her FAQ section, which gave our a lot of information about sources on this subject. She has an extensive website, so I think you could find information on almost anything you wanted there. She is a teacher and an activist, and communicates very well. Thank you, Ellen - just a note that the site is www.schoolmoldhelp.org (not health) Worker's Comp is absolutely an illogical mire - I am dealing with it myself - a denied claim, as usual, with mold cases. Connect the building (testing info) to the illness (testing by a doc who knows how to) is the best advice - but do check out the Steps to Follow page on the site above, too. I needed an attorney familiar with mold cases to handle it, too - on contingency, doesn't cost me anything till the case is settled. I consider that part to be essential due to the strong defense/denials on the part of my employer.

Guest guest
Hi ph, Have her fill out an 827 form and mark that she is changing attending physicians to you. Then call the claims representative and explain the situation, be very, very nice and see if they won't cover the first four visits. First also make sure your chart note explains all as well, as per finding out later it was a W/C injury. Vern Saboe call me if you have problems and we can ask more questions of Dispute Resolution Dept. The RNs in there are great! Workers Comp Man, tis been a goofy week and only half way through. Have a patient that came to me on her own volition for pain in hands arms and neck bilaterally and she's only 23. Said she was diagnosed with carpal tunnel by MD, but during the exam CT was ruled out pretty quickly and it ended up being a pretty clear case of T.O.S.. Her MD ordered NCV test and it came back negative so she dropped the CT diag, and now referring her to Hand Specialist, meanwhile still doing PT at same office. Well now the PT agrees with me and the patient just mentioned yesterday(her 4th visit) that this is actually a workers comp case. So, I'm not the attending, but the attending has no idea whats going on with patient and the patient knows this and conveyed her displeasure with her in general. She is told to continue her PT. PT on what diagnosis, I don't know. sigh So, do i need to get referral now from attending in order to bill WC? her health ins. will deny claiming it's a WC thing no? BTW, Vern, she claimed her company told her to specifically go to Concentra Med Center. SHe said they did not tell her she could initially go anywhere she liked. signed, spinning in NE Portland Dr. ph Medlin D.C.Spine Tree Chiropractic1627 NE Alberta St. #6Portland, OR 97211Ph: 503-788-6800c: 503-889-6204
Guest guest
Sharon wrote " I know working at nursing homes they don't have worker's comp, but I also know from experience that they will take care of doctor bills and even pay you a small portion of your check if the doctor has you off work. " Workers comp does NOT depend on your profession. In the US it is a program intended to compensate workers for injuries caused by their job. It is administered by individual states and has slightly different rules. But it has NOTHING to do with what you do for a living. (I know because I used to be an accountant for a chemical company and it was my job to figure out what an injured workers average pay was so that we could make sure that he got the correct amount...) 's issue in a workers comp case would be to prove that his fall was work related (he felt urgency to quicky respond to a patient need, lost his balance and fell), not PA related (he fell because his joints are weak and the mtx made him dizzy) Workers comp is convoluted and most workplaces try to keep it secret. A friend had an open workers comp case and had surgery for the injury. The company insisted she take sick leave and vacation for that abscense. The state law says that she didn't have to. It took six months of fussing, three copies of the applicable rule, and threatening to get a lawyer, for her to get her vacation back.... If you have workers comp issues, get a copy of the laws and guidelines for your state. It pays to be more knowledeable than your employer...
