Thanks to all for the great information. I have been suffering lower back =

pain so my

sweet dr. said I needed an MRI. This is related to the Interstitial Cystiti=

s.... or perhaps

not. He said there could be neurological damage. I asked if it could be rel=

ated to the

mold and other chemicals I was exposed to. Last time he said " Maybe " . This =

time he

said no-- it was most likely due to the radiation I had when I had cancer. =

Hissssss. I

then found this quote when I did a search on Elmiron, a medicine I am not s=

ure I want

to take. " There are two current theories for the cause of IC, says UAB urol=

ogist L.

Lloyd, MD. " The first suggests a defect in the protective epithelial =

permeability

barrier — the glycosaminoglycan layer — of the bladder. It also is possible=

that

interstitial cystitis is not a cause-specific entity, but a syndrome, chara=

cterized by

bladder inflammation provoked by infectious, inflammatory, mechanical, alle=

rgic,

autoimmune, environmental, or neurogenic stimuli. "

Think I should get a second opinion????
