" We are working on a plan that is least disruptive, " Fossbender said. " We want to keep as many students as possible in the school during the remediation process. We are anxiously waiting for the test results to come back. We are hoping to do the remediation in phases. " Students who occupy classrooms in the lower wing at Staples are remaining there until school officials establish a plan to fix this latest mold problem. The lower wing accommodates the pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first and second grade classrooms. As long as negative air pressure could be maintained in those classrooms, they can remain occupied, school officials said. Mold was found in every classroom in Staples' lower wing, the media center, music room and computer lab. Higher levels of mold were found in the last three rooms, so those were closed. Several varieties of mold were discovered after Labs completed tests in the school's lower wing. A second company, ORCS, analyzed the results of the tests did in the classrooms. Black, toxic mold called stachybotrys was found in Room 11's ceiling tiles but not been in the other classrooms. Room 11, which is located in the lower wing, was closed Labor Day weekend so remediation could begin.
