Guest guest
Hi everyone, When I first got sick, I had headaches, dizzyness, memory loss, tremendous nerve pain in my arms and hands, oins and needles in my legs, balance problems, sinus problems,,,Etc. I couldn't understand why I didn't get asthma like so many others. I went on Dr. Shoemakers meds and took five weeks off. I actually felt better, the pins and needles went away, the pain went away, my sinuses improved. I still felt like I have dried clay in my sinuses, but I didnt have that sinus infection feeling. When I went back to work at the Police Department, I wasn't there 5 minutes when I started to get congested in my lungs, with wheezing and coughing that was non productive. I noticed that it wasn't going away and in fact it got worse after our air conditioner was broken for 9 days. I had testing done and yes, I am now allergic to molds and have to give myself 2 shots a week. I also have to take a clarinex before going into the building, nasonex, and histamine drops. Can you imagine having to take all those drugs just to walk into my place of employment. I told my doc last week that I was getting congested at work and that I noticed I was getting winded when I climbed the stairs. He made me blow into this machine and I didnt do well. I had a breathing treatment and I had to blow again...and I was improved. Well, I now have a mild case of asthma. I'm sure that the workmans comp people are going to say that its from my smoking... I have never had lung or sinus problems before I was exposed. I was an avid hiker. Is my asthma mold related or smoking related? I know smoking doesnt help it, but it doesn't seem like my smoking caused it. Why is it that I can breathe at home? Are there any studies that mold can cause asthma? Just asking...I knew it was too good to be true that I didnt have lung problems like everyone else. Sharon
