Guest guest
Hi Leila. I am a bilateral Nucleus CI user and have just upgraded to the Freedoms 3 weeks ago. I use both the rechargeable and disposable batteries.. For me, The rechargeable batteries last 20- 24 hours per battery depending on what side it is. The disposable is now entering its 32nd hour of use. I am guessing that it will be any where from another 10- 16 hours of use before I will have to change them. I will be using the disposable this week and next week as I will be going on vacation and I don't want to have to think about bringing my charger with me. Just a pack of batteries for the week will do. But I think for the most part I will rely on the rechargeables because I know I can get close to 2 full days on it. (12 hour days) But that may not be the norm for every body that has the Freedom. The rechargeable batteries just came out with the upgrades late Sept so we are just started using them so I do not know what the average life span is yet. But I am sure that the N24 users will be posting about the battery life. I do know that they are liking the convenience of sliding them in to the processors. It just takes seconds!!! The nice thing I like about my Freedom is that I have 4 awesome programs to choose from depending on the environment that I am in. I use the ADRO program for half of the shift like from 3 to 7 then I can switch to my open program. This is the program that does not have any gimmicks or any bells or whistles if you will. from 7 to 11. I work in a very noisy setting on an Alzheimer's unit in a nursing home. I also use my Whisper program while watching TV at home. I have not used my BEAM program yet... but am hoping to try that on my vacation next week. I go back and forth between the open and ADRO programs. One more thing and Ill get off my soap box .. I did try my 3G the other day.. It is just not the same any more. The Freedom is just crisper and clearer!!!!! Sorry this is long. Snoopy bilateral Nucleus CIs Freedoms 10/26/
