Guest guest
Well, the November issue of Reader's Digest has arrived and guess whose story is featured? Our own and the incredible story of how he survived a bizarre accident while cutting firewood - that's who. Can you imagine having a cellphone and a pocket knife handy when disaster strikes? Someone " up there " is sure looking out for you, ! The article by writer is located on page 122 - unfortunately they don't put their current issues on line so pick a copy up when you go to the grocery store. Guest guest
Barbara, Thank you for letting others know about the story. had done a great job of bringing me back to that day and at my worst moments some of the thoughts that were going through my head. I was very pleased with the overall story and of course most important the parts of my wifes illness (that were allowed to be published, for legal issue, I'm sure you all understand how that goes.) Her story (the mold story) was much more important in my mind than what happened to me, to finally have pieces of it published in a hugh way. I was a bit upset at first cause they would not publish (the editors) some medical info that I had talked about, which according to their experts hasn't been proven, but WE ALL know better. As for many of us AND NOT BY CHOICE, mold has become a very big part of our lives and the many issues that surround it. It seems like every minute of every day we are searching for info, treatment, etc., and I just thought since this is what many of our lives are all about that there would not be any hesitation in writting the full story. Wrong. But I am thankful for what has been allowed. I'd loved to know WHO their experts were? I have already been told there can be a followup. If enough people request or contact them. As I had mentioned to the reporter this is just not about my wife this is about a large number of people across the country, especially our children that have been affected by indoor air quality, (or lack of it.) That these are NOT rare cases. Please feel free to email the editor: letters@... and let them know what you have been experiencing the last several years and the lack of education, support, the ignorance that surrounds the issue, treatment and how we are just asking for the correct diagnosis and medication so that we can all move on. And also when it comes to the public health that money and politics should not play a roll by no means when it comes to our health. This is just another way for us to continue the ball rolling that we have already started up in Washington. I have heard many complaints how these cases are carried out in a courtroom and what is being rewarded (or not), but many of us have been backed into a corner and left no choice but to come out fighting literally for our lives. I do agree many of these cases can be avoided through education and prevention, especially with our medical community. If this were the case many of us would not be in the situation we are now, nor would we be made to fight this issue in the courts. Thank you all, (better known as KC) Moderator > Well, the November issue of Reader's Digest has arrived and guess whose story is featured?
