Guest guest
Hi again, I losing my hearing on the left side so I don´t want to wait till I´ve lost it completely. My docotr is very positive towards it. Like I said I´m goin to undergo some tests in February. I don´t have to worry, Father knows I´m determined. We´ve discussed this, he understands. It´s not so long since he understood he understood how isolated I am socially. We went to the USA 2 years ago, I was attending a conference for deaf people and everybody was speaking Sign language and my father saw how happy it made me. ince we were at a meeting about some device and I was watching my father speak, he looked at me and told me to rather watch the Sign language interpretor, we both laughed. It was very funny. The people who help me change the batteries ´cause I can´t use my hands. Regards, Ásdís -- Asdis Hi Asdis, See what your surgeon and audiologist have to say about doing the second implant. If you are hearing with the hearing aid, then you might not be a candidate. And since implants run on batteries, you will need someone to change them for you. Who is doing that now for you? Take care, Thanks for the mail. I´m doing really well hearing with my right ear but I think I would do better with the left one. I´m using a normal hearing aid on my left so I can hear sound from the environment but not talking. Also I can´t change the batteries on my own, I have to get someone else to do it fo rme. They sometimes run out when I ´m on my own and I can´t hear anything. I´ve got dystonia and am using an electrically powered wheelchair. Thanks. Ásdís
