Where so I want to be in a year? Well to know where I want to be you have to know where I came from. I was sleeved on 2/18/2011. I weighed 245 when I started and had been that way for yrs regardless of exercising or diets. My family is large, not bone structure wise, it's the mean bad carb monster!! Anyway, in my first month 40 lbs just melted away...I was shocked by the comments I received from people and yet I didn't notice any change myself. Now I am 2.5 mths and have lost 53 lbs. I am noticing changes now some, especially in clothes and even better in my attitude. It's like everyday I wake up stronger, more confident, and aware.

So that is where I was and am- now where so I see myself in a year? I see myself a mother of a high school grad, a graduate of grad school myself, at least 100 lbs lighter than I was the yr prior and above all else...I see myself happy with my decisions and grateful for the opportunities to enjoy life more now that I have made those decisions. Most importantly, I will be supported and surrounded by both my online friends and my local friends through this journey.

For me, I eliminate as many of the carbs and sugar as I can. I always eat protein first and I am chosing healthier choices for meals in general. I have began to exercise more and have noticed that my weight loss has began to motivate others as well- not just in my family. Hopefully we will all be helathier in a year!!! Hi Everyone,Where do you want to be in 1 year from now? When I had weight loss surgery, I had no idea how long it was going to take me to lose weight; I was older than most of you and everyone l drops their weight at different speeds. Most of all of us ladies know that men lose much faster than we do. For me it took me about 14 months to lose 105 pounds. I know when I started this journey like the rest of you I wanted it to just melt off of me. As first it felt like it was, but I knew that would slow down and it did. What I want you to do it take it in small steps. Set your goals by weeks or by a month, and DO NOT put yourself down if you don't reach that goal. Remember we are all individuals. I had a walking buddy and she was good to keep me motivated and when she was down I did the same for her. She had sleeve surgery with Dr. Aceves about 6 months after I had mine. I was honored when she asked me to go with her for

her surgery. Mix things up, become creative with your food ideas. I actually have become a much better cook now that I am healthy and at my goal weight, but that didn't happen overnight. I started searching out recipes that would incorporate my lifestyle and something that taste great and that my husband and I both would eat. Find the protein that you like (for me it was chicken) and find 50 different ways to cook with it and watch your carbs. Those sneaky carbs have a way of messing up your weight loss. If you are eating carbs make them WHOLE GRAIN carbs, not whole wheat—the key word is Whole Grain. Summer is coming along find some great salads and put your protein in along with a little fresh fruit—like strawberries and then make the salad you entire meal. Watch the dressing that you are using. I learned to NOT put the dressing on my salad, but dip my forks into the dressing and with every bite I always get dressing.

So look at the calendar and set a goal in your mind where you would like to be one year from today. Some will be there and some will not. Don't overwhelm yourself with too big of a goal. I also used to like to look at catalog or magazines that had great clothes that I wanted to be able to buy when I reached my goal. I will be honest and say, I have bought a lot of new clothes. Looking at these beautiful clothes kept me from eating too. Do what works best for you.If you haven't picked your doctor yest I would like to tell you the Dr. Aceves is the very best that you can have for your surgery. If you have any questions about him, I am more than happy to answer anything you would like to know. I wanted the best I could have and after a lot of research and talking to people on these boards, I knew he was the one.I wish you great success, remember do this one day at a time. If you had a bad day the good news is that day

ends and you can start all over the next day.Hugs,SuzanneSleeved 10/210/2008

I want to be riding my big beautiful palomino quarter horse named Partner.  I have never ridden him.   And I want to go tubing with my kids on the Guadalupe River.  And ride all the rides at Six Flags!  And not worry about what chair will hold me comfortably when I enter a room!

Had sleeve on 4/14, feeling good, ready to lose!

Suzanne,

As always, thanks for your words of encouragement :) My husband is amazed by the shrinking! He keeps bragging about what a cheap date I've become. Then it hit him the other day...one day I'll be able to shop at ANY store...he grabbed his wallet and groaned. Then he said, "You're really going to go nuts aren't you?" YEP. That was the end of the discussion. Ha ha ha ha!!!!! At least he's being realistic.

Have a great day,

Daphne

This is great news, Just keep doing what you are doing. Remember sell or give

your fat clothes to someone who would be thrilled to have them. You are NEVER

GOING to need them again.

Take care, and hugs,

I was sleeved 12/19/09. My goal was to lose 100 lbs. and so far I've only lost 65. Don't get me wrong, I love being a size 14 (from a size 22) but I've been at a plateau for the last 6-7 months! I'll admit, I've fallen off the wagon and trying my hardest to get back on. I've been walking a lot and have done some 5K's. I set a goal for myself when I hit that 100 lb mark, I'm going to get a little tattoo I've always wanted. I'm here to tell everybody that the weight does NOT come off by itself. Initially yes, but it takes work. If you allow the bad food back into your life, it's going to move in and make itself comfortable. So I'm attacking all the bad stuff I've let back in my life and getting back on track because a year from now, I want to say, I've lost 100 lbs and got my tattoo!KimFrom: SuzanneB <SuzanneSH@...>Subject: Where do you want to be with your weight loss 1 year from now. Hi Kim,

It is a struggle when you get off track, but good for you for getting back on and having a goal.

If you had a bad day the good news is that day ends and you can start all over the next day.Hugs,SuzanneSleeved 10/210/2008

Suzanne: I put this letter in my "save" file when I first saw it since I didn't have time to read it until today. I knew it would be great.....and it is. Thank you so much for writing this! LJFrom: SuzanneB <SuzanneSH@...> Sent:

Hi Everyone,

Where do you want to be in 1 year from now?

I was honored when she asked me to go with her for her surgery.

Mix things up, become creative with your food ideas. I actually have become a much better cook now that I am healthy and at my goal weight, but that didn't happen overnight. I started searching out recipes that would incorporate my lifestyle and something that taste great and that my husband and I both would eat.
