Don't waste your money on the lap band, get the sleeve...Lap band will cost you more in the end... both finacially and with the problems you can have down the road...

Im in Riverside county. >> Wow time has flown by rather quickly. Seems like yesterday I was thinking about having the VSG surgery and tomorrow I board the plane to San Diego. Nervously excited about getting the band removed and the VSG surgery. Sure hope Im doing the right thing! See you guys on the other side on Saturday.> > Donnie H.> Dr. Aceves 6/18/2011>

Hi,

If you noticed Donnie is getting the lapband REMOVED. Please reconsider or at least read about ALL the people having the lapband removed due to complications with the lapband. AARP posted an article that said a doctor had been keeping track of a group of people for 12 years who had a lapband. Over 50% of them had them REMOVED because of complications.

Please do a little more research and check out the VSG or as we call it the "sleeve." There are so many issues and problems with a lapband. And in the end the cost is more than the VSG--because the lapband needs to be filled and unfilled at a cost of about $200 to $300 EACH time it is filled or unfilled. They have problems eating and spend a great deal of time unable to eat anything other than liquids. I doubt that a liquid diet is what you want for the rest of your life.
