Guest guest
I just wanted to tell you that I am sure you are having all kinds of emotions and feeling about now. This is really normal. I was excited and scared, happy, couldn't wait, questioned if I was doing the right thing. I was and I have NO regrets at all. You are going to be in excellent hands, from Ernesto who will pick you up at the airport, to Yolanda who will greet you and get you started and the entire staff of nurses. The doctors are spectacular too.Dr. Aceves and Dr. Compos are # 1 in my book. Keep us posted as to how you are doing or if you have any questions. Guest guest
I arrive on Oct 19th and my surgery date is October 20th. I can't believe it is only a little over 3 weeks away. My best friend is also coming with to get sleeved. I still have all kinds of emotions about it. Excited, anxious, stressed, am I doing the right thing, heck yes I am doing the right thing! I have 2 people that I know locally that have gone to Dr. Aceves, so talking to them has been my saving grace. They both look fantastic & rave about the quality care they got while in Mexico. We'll see you there!!! Phyllis > > I just wanted to tell you that I am sure you are having all kinds of > emotions and feeling about now. This is really normal. Guest guest
I am in the process of scheduling my surgery for the 20th. I am waiting for final confirmation. I am very nervous also. You are lucky to have talked directly with people who have had this surgery - especially from Dr. Aceves. Mostly - I wonder what life is like 5+ years from now when the " honeymoon " stage is over. Guest guest
You both will have to come find me when you get there for your tests. I should be out of surgery and recovering by then! My name is kirsten. Might be silly going around looking for mulder! Also, I have a question for you Phyllis. Is your friend who is traveling with you staying at he hospital or at the hotel the days after your surgery? Just curious. I was planning on having my mom stay at the hospital with me because I have a huge fear she will somehow get lost forever if she was left on her own. She has no sense of direction and I don't really trust her to get back and forth from the hotel to the hospital by herself. Guest guest
Ignore my question about the hotel. I reread your post and realize she is also having surgery! It's 530 a.m right now so I'm slightly out of it. And I can't sleep. So I guess we will all be hanging at the hospital! Guest guest
Hey Phyllis, Well, to the world of WLS people. ALL the feeling that you are feeling are quite normal. Keep talking about your fears and if you have any question please come back as tell us about them. We are here to support you 100%. I had every fear you had plus some because I was 63 when I did this. I figured out that I might be that "one" person that this might not work on. Boy was I ever wrong. I worked and still has 3 years later. I lost 105 pounds, and I want you to know that it is ok to be happy, excite and scared all at the same time. Hugs and you will love your new life. Guest guest
Hi Ann, I am 3 years out, and I was 63 when I had mine, I am 66 now--thrilled with my new life. I am maintained my 105 pound weight loss. This is a lifestyle change--not a diet. I eat small amounts of food and it is healthy. I honestly love the healthy food. Do I ever have a treat--sure I do, but only a small amount of it not the entire thing. You just learn that this is a way of life. I still walk about 5 times a week too.
