Guest guest
I was a sugarholic b4 the surgery ..... that's one reason I had to have surgery. Sugar makes you FAT. I'm almost 3 months out of surgery and dislike sugar now. That's a major blessing to me. Why try to push your body into liking something that only harms your body. I consider my new aversion to sweets a miracle and a great tool in helping with my weight loss. You might be having sugar withdrawals now. I went thru it too but I'm very thankful now. Start feeding your body healthy food and you will regain your strength. You WILL enjoy food again but you don't have to make food your main focus in life anymore ..... we asked and paid good money for this blessing! I found that my brain craved sugar but my body said NO WAY!!! Good luck, Dawn AZ Feeling tired after eating. Dead tired Just wondering why after eating I get extremely tired and want to lay down. I also can't handle sugar as I did before. Feel bad afterwards and it's making my eating experience no fun. Anyone else have this problem? Guest guest
Hi - This happens to me sometimes too. Not ALL the time, but sometimes, and I haven't been able to find a common denominator. I'm anxious to hear from the rest of the group... Guest guest
I think the point is being missed here. We're not saying we want to eat sugar and it causes problems. We are saying that after eating FOOD (real food - not junk) we are suddenly very tired and don't feel well and have to go lay down until it goes away. At least that's MY issue. I'd love to know what causes it so I can avoid it. As I said, it doesn't happen EVERY time but I have not been able to identify a common denominator. Guest guest
I must be missing posts again because I didn't see where suggestions were to NOT eat sugar.I'm with Cheryl, it happens to me randomly after eating what I should be eating...not anything in particular. The other day I had scallops and some warm spinach salad and afterwards, I could barely keep my eyes open! I have tried to pay attention to anything that could trigger this, but it really is random and not any one food causes it.Sent from my iPhoneOn Feb 14, 2011, at 10:27 AM, "CherylH" <boernecheryl@...> wrote: I think the point is being missed here. Guest guest
I tend to feel that way if I eat too much. I've never experienced that tiredness if I have just a small snack. And yeah, not related to sugar here, either - I've eaten dessert without any tiredness after whatsoever. I think that when we eat too much, our stomach can't distend too much, unlike in other people. This results in increased pressure inside the stomach, and increased pressure on the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve is part of the parasympathetic system, the "rest and digest" system. That would explain the sleepiness, although this is just a theory on my part.KateSent from my iPhoneOn Feb 15, 2011, at 12:57 PM, Krista Casey <kristaacasey@...> wrote: I must be missing posts again because I didn't see where suggestions were to NOT eat sugar.I'm with Cheryl, it happens to me randomly after eating what I should be eating...not anything in particular.
