Hi everyone,I have been stalking this board for about a month now, absorbing every bit of info I could before leaving for my surgery. My daughter and I are leaving from Eastern Washington to San Diego on Monday, 6/27 and I'll have surgery on the 28th. I am having all the feelings everyone else has had. I'm sure it will be the best decision I've ever made but somewhat nervous about the "unknown". You have all been such a great support for me without even knowing it. Thank you so much.-Debbi

Thank you so much! I'm starting to sweat it now for real. We have to leave

home at 3:00 a.m. tomorrow morning and it's 8:56 p.m. now. Thinking I should

sleep for a bit but don't think I can. Maybe on the plane...

Good Advice Everyone! It has been three years since my life changing sleeve! I am so much happier and several friends of mine have wanted to get it done...they see the change it has brought to my life! I love to be able to bend down, tie my shoes, open the car door and reach down for the gas lever - before, I had to get out of the car and bend over since my stomach fat got in the way and I couldn't bend sideways.I no longer have to wonder if I will ever lose the weight....I know I have. I see heavier people and truly feel their pain since I was there too. I bless them on their journey and don't judge them. Only feel the slow, trudging, heavy feel of a body trapped in fat. I no longer get super hot in the summer and do not have medicine issues. I do get colder now since my layers of insulation are

gone! But that is certainly a good thing! I have met so many people now that they never knew me in my fat years. Those who remember me when, are continually amazed that I have kept the weight off and they hardly remember the 'old' me.I am so thankful everyday for Dr. Aceves and his team! They have forever changed me, my family, my life, and my outlook! If you have any questions about his services, you are free to email me. I have seen the results in my life and others. Suzanne got her sleeve a few months after me and I remember her asking all of the same questions that all of the newbies continue to ask. I can only hope you take the first step that will change your life! Good luck! I would say yes, most people here have the sleeve, I did in the end. I looked at the band and RNYThe Band is not a bad option but requires fills/unfills; thus maintenance after. And unless you can see Dr. Aceves or Compos, the American MD will charge a lot or not deal with it at all. I'm two years post-op with the sleeve and my only complaint is I no longer get my money's worth at all-you-can-eat buffets. No complications, no medications, no buying over priced fat-man clothes. I love buying clothes off the rack. My shoulders are bigger then my belly now. And as a single guy, I'm back in the dating scene.Bipley can give you the most honest and blunt information about the pros and cons of both. I would research her posts on this forum.Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®From: Caprise <capriseholmes@...>Sender: Date: Tue, 28 Jun 2011 05:51:54 -0700 < >Reply Subject: Re: Re: Sleeve 6/28 Are most people getting the sleeve instead of the band these days?Sent from my iPhoneOn Jun 27, 2011, at 8:35 AM, "" <crispene@...> wrote: Hi Debbie-I'm from Oregon and I'll wave to you as you fly overhead :) Safe travels to you today...Praying for safe travels for you today.Everything you are feeling in completely normal. I didn't have a psych eval......or just a general interview....I guess they want to make sure you are not crazy or have body dis-morphia. I am sure it will be fine. I don't even remember that.....it has all been a wonderful positive experience! I am blessed and I know you will be too!Warmly,Gail

Why do you have to do a psych eval? Dr. Aceves doesn't require one.
