Guest guest
Keela, Since you don't have a Costco close, please remember that you can probably order it at costco.com also. I have found 2 fantastic sources for my protein drinks and other items such as vitamins and supplements. 1st is: www.bariatricfoodsource.com This site is specially designed for bariatric patients. I love this site, they have a lot of nutritional advice and have special vitamins that are designed for exactly what we need post surgery and for the rest of our lives also. My favorite at this site are the Fruit drinks (none require a blender, just dump in a partial bottle of water). The have 70 Calories, 15 grams of Protein and only 1 gram of Carbs - per serving and come in boxes with 7 packs. Also, please check out all of the vitamins and nutritional info. You can order samples from this site. That will help you order what you like. 2nd is: www.netrition.com They have great protein drinks, that I drink every morning, in a variety of flavors. My favorite is Mint Cookie and has 140 Calories, 23 grams of Protein & 6 grams of Carbs. The light mint taste really is fantastic and helps my stomach when it sometimes gets testy. I ordered about 6 different flavors, but my favorite was the Mint Cookie. They are priced really well and come in two different sizes, the large (5.4 lb) a bit cheaper. I think the prices are great on this site. Good luck!!!! I had my sleeve done on May 3, 2011 and I already have lost a lot of weight and so many inches. It has changed my life. Go back to the basics like you were in the beginning and the weight will come back off. To me, if it was 20 pounds and it meant so much that it was gone I would go back through the phases like you did right after surgery. Guest guest
Thanks for all the info. Darcy. I really appreciate it. I did go to www.bariatricfoodsource.com before I had surgery and ordered a ton of the meal replacement shakes, protein shakes, and the fruit drinks all to which are absolutely horrible to me. Spent another $50 on Isopure, waisted that money as well. I guess I just cannot find an acquired taste for this stuff. I did fid one at Wal-Mart that I can tolerate because the texture is not so thick and gritty to me but it only has 17 grams of protein. I was hoping to get like 30 grams in one shake so I could maybe drink 2 a day and that would be enough. I have heard that the Mint Cookie was pretty good so I guess I will try that one. I am willing to try anything at this point. Thanks again! Guest guest
I use Unjury ( Chocolate Splendor or Classic). In a shacker bottle w/ the wire ball, I put 2 scoops (40g of protein) and a bottle of water. It tastes good (not gritty). Two shakes will provide 80g of protein. unjuryFrom: Keela McMillian <kekerene@...> Sent: Thu, July 14, 2011 3:17:33 PMSubject: RE: Protein Sources - 20lbs weight gain Thanks for all the info. Darcy. Guest guest
I like the Matrix Syntrax Mint Cookie. I've been drinking it for months and I still like it. I mix it with a low calorie and low fat soy milk. This particular protein drink does have some carbs. I use it in the morning and then if I have another shake later in the day I use a lower carb mixture. I do like the isopure vanilla if I add strawberries, or peaches or something fruity. I like that it has ZERO carbs. It's hard to find a low carb protein shake that tastes good. I do add the isopure vanilla to my coffee when I am feeling hungry around 10 am and need some protein. I also like the Whey Gourmet products. My favorite flavors are Choc Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and Orange Cream. They do have carbs and are better tasting if you ask me. I did not like the unjury proteins. Flavor was fine for me but the smell was difficult for me. I returned the Unjury that I didn't like, they kindly took it back but I had to pay for shipping. I also returned at Isopure banana to netrition.com and they gladly took it back too but I had to pay for shipping. GNC will take protein powder back too, you have to pay for the gas to drive there. I don't like the Premier Protein from Costco because, for me, it's too sweet. It''s just a matter of trying things, and deciding what you like. It's costs money to buy and return them. If you find a nutrition store in your area, get to know the owner see if they will open a tub and let you try a product. Or see if they will sell you some samples. I have not found that I have saved any $$$ on this journey, but I'm not complaining. The real savings is in never having diabetes, or hypertention etc. K
Guest guest
, It is from Netrition.com and it is: 39-0962(item #) Matrix (by Syntrax) 5.0, Mint Cookie, 5.40 lb. - It is a sustained-release protein, which is good and I just put mine in a shaker cup with water and a couple of ice cubes and shake, no messy blender. www.netrition.com Darcey > > > > > > > > > From: ' Moller <widget1@> > > > Subject: Re: 20lbs weight gain > > > > > > Date: Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 11:16 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > I was told that by Dr. Aceves that you will ALWAYS have your tool. The have 70 Calories, 15 grams of Protein and only 1 gram of Carbs - per serving and come in boxes with 7 packs. Also, please check out all of the vitamins and nutritional info. You can order samples from this site. That will help you order what you like.2nd is: www.netrition.comThey have great protein drinks, that I drink every morning, in a variety of flavors. I think the prices are great on this site.Good luck!!!! I had my sleeve done on May 3, 2011 and I already have lost a lot of weight and so many inches. It has changed my life.Best regards,Darcey> > > > > > From: ' Moller <widget1@>> > Subject: Re: 20lbs weight gain> > > > Date: Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 11:16 PM> > > > > > > > I was told that by Dr. Aceves that you will ALWAYS have your t ool. Go back to the basics like you were in the beginning and the weight will come back off. To me, if it was 20 pounds and it meant so much that it was gone I would go back through the phases like you did right after surgery. Someon e also mentioned a 5 day pouch test.> > > > `> > 20lbs weight gain> > > > > > > > I had the sleave about 3 yrs ago, I lost 100lbs in the 1st yr. kept it off for a year. now I have gained about 20lbs back. I admit I havent been perfect. I was wondering if anyone else experianced this and if they were able to get the weight back off. > > thanks,> > > >>
