KC Thursday, September 23, 2004 EPA DAY TELL THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY Contact Mr. Axelrad, Director for Indoor Air Quality, EPA Phone: 202-343-9370 Fax: 202-343-2394 Email: robert.axelrad@... SAMPLE LETTER TO EPA: Indoor Air Quality Division: My name is _________________, and I am concerned about indoor mold growth in our buildings. The asthma rate within the U.S. is one of the highest in the world, which causes difficulty breathing and even death. Indoor mold growth is an asthma trigger that has resulted in sky-rocketing medical costs lost work and school days. We need our buildings cleaned up to prevent this debilitating disease from causing further losses. Please institute a policy change to include indoor mold growth on the list of indoor pollutants that desperately need to be addressed. Please make cleaning up and preventing mold growth in our indoor environment a top priority. There have been thousands of families and school children that experienced this first hand in our homes, rentals, workplaces, and our nation's schools and we need your help.
