Guest guest
Congratulations! I know what you mean about being in shock....when I scheduled my surgery I had 6 days to make my flight reservations. Honestly though, I'd been researching the surgery and Dr. Aceves for two years and knew I wanted the surgery!! I had my VSG last July and to date have lost 108 lbs., 74 inches and I am happy as I can be with these results. I've got 10 lbs to goal and have no doubt I'll get there. I was on 4 medications and am off all of them and have been since my 3rd month out. I love my sleeve and Dr. Aceves! This has happened so quickly, I'm a little bit in shock. I had never heard of the Gastric Sleeve before a Co-worker told me she had it done a couple of years ago. I've been heavy all my life, been through many diet plans but have always re-gained my weight back. At my highest I reached 298, I'm currently at 263 with a BMI of 40. I have insurance, but was just notified that my job will be going away in mid to late July. I don't have time to jump through all the hoops to be approved before my coverage ends. I'm taking the money out of my 401K to pay for this. I've been panicked about how I was going to pay for the Pharmacy of drugs I take each day. I'm hoping the timing will be early enough so by the time my insurance ends I'll be off most everything I take. I'm happy that a side effect of getting off all the medications will be the weight loss.
