Guest guest
I was banded 3 years ago (right before the sleeve procedure became the "in" thing), lost 70 lbs and then stalled; had some issues with non-related stuff, broken port by a doctor in the states ... anyway, finally realized that the band wasn't a match with me. I really like Dr. Aceves so this is not a complaint AT ALL. But for those with Kaiser in So. Cal who are unhappy with the band, here's a heads up - they WILL (more than likely) cover a revision to the VSG Sleeve. There are 3 months of classes to take (which I totally don't mind) and then Kaiser will do the revision surgery. I am beyond thrilled and cannot wait for this band to be gone gone. For those with Kaiser in So. Cal who like their band, they have contracted with a doctor in T.Oaks who will maintain your band as well - funny thing is that I was never told that by any of my regular doctors at Kaiser. I only found out this past week - surprise. Hope this info helps some trish
Guest guest
Well I was banded April 2008 and lost 106 lbs, have gained 15lbs back, have had the worst of luck with my port area not healing properly, so now my band has erroded and needs to come out. My medical insurance has decided to cover the procedure but no revision coverage. I am grateful that I was banded back when, because my life has been given a complete 360 and i am a more healthy person, inside and out. I used the band for what it was intended to, "A TOOL'. I am grateful for Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos, they have been wonderful through the entire process and would I do it again. the answer is YES!!!!without a doubt. was 238lbs when banded, down to 132lbs and now imat 147lbsfrom a size 22 dress size to a nice size 6 From: ladywotch@... <ladywotch@...>Subject: lapband coming out Date: Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 1:11 PM I was banded 3 years ago (right before the sleeve procedure became the "in" thing), lost 70 lbs and then stalled; had some issues with non-related stuff, broken port by a doctor in the states ... anyway, finally realized that the band wasn't a match with me.
