what if something else wrong when getting lapband surgery?

I have heard a few people mention that if DR. A finds something else

that needs fixing while he doing the Lapband ...he fixes it. Has

anyone had to have anything else done during the surgery? If

so...what kinds of things does he find? (obviously, it is different

for everyone)

And since most are self paying how do they handle the extra expense

afterwards? I myself am needing to budget every penny and scrimpin

and savin for it. If there is an extra expense...I need to know if I

need to work that into my savings plan or not.

To my knowledge he just fixes hiatal hernias and unlike the US, he

does not charge extra for it. In the US that repair would be an

additional $1500-1800.

Hey Chloe, )

I can't say for sure what kind of things Dr. A will fix just as a

matter of course, but I know he'll do any hernias that are related to

the band, like a hiatal hernia. I have an umbilical (belly button)

hernia that he didn't touch, mostly because it's not that big and will

fix itself as I lose weight. Anything along these lines he doesn't

charge extra for.

As far as financing, I borrowed against a credit card because I have

ridiculously low interest on it. It was the best, fastest and easiest

way to go at the time.
