Guest guest
Hey all, curious on what type of symptoms may show if you develop a leak. I was sleeved on 8/19 and passed leak test at that time. I just finished the 1st phase of clear liquid. I had a hard time getting all of my protein and liquids required but the last 3 days I have managed to do pretty well. Other than typical pain associated with healing and an abcess on my navel stitches I have done fine. Last night I tried a different protein shake. I woke up at about 5am with some heartburn but I didn't get up right away to take my nexium because it I take it too early I will wake up with heartburn. By 6:30am it was bad so I got up and took it. Since then I have been totally wiped out, I have pain in my lower left abdominal area, right under my pelvic bone, almost in my hip. It's hard to get liquids down but I am managing. This all hit so fast this morning it scared me. I have done mega research all day and found most symptoms of leaks include upper abdominal pain, nausia, fever - all of which I don't have- but I am still kinda spooked. Anyone else have left side lower addominal pain? I am hoping that it's just the new protein drink is not agreeing with me.
Guest guest
Ok, update on symptoms. It must have been the protien drink cuz no more issues since that episode. I used a medifast shake I had from pre op and I didn't realize I grabbed one with an appetite supressant in it. I believe it has caffeen in it. Up side is that little experience removed all craving I thought I was having for a cup of coffee lol! Dr. A's voice is echoing in my head...follow the rules! Just to be on the safe side I have my pcp followup today. Happy to report I am down 16 lb since surgery 2 weeks ago. Yea!
